| | | Retailer77 | 02-04-2016 06:23 PM | Question about IP addresses I am reading through ebay stealth, and it states that for every new account to create a new user ID on your computer. In the book it states that every user ID on the computer will have a different IP address.
But it then goes on to say you only need to change your IP address between different ebay and paypal account, and then it goes on to show how to change your IP address.
I am a bit confused..he states that a different user ID already will have a separate IP address..so why would you even need to change the IP address if you are managing the new account under a different user ID? |
| JamesNorth101 | 02-04-2016 06:24 PM | Re: Question about IP addresses You need to change your public IP address
You can use VPN, your home internet connect, dongles, mobile tethering ect to do that :) |

You would also consider making sure to have different ISPs to look different and not get linked. |

My apologies |
| JamesNorth101 | 02-04-2016 06:38 PM | Re: Question about IP addresses Always worth asking questions if you are not 100% sure. Its the best way to learn in combination with reading and reading on the forum :) |

My apologies | Dont be sorry.
Ask before making accounts .
Do consider what I said. Since you mentioned you will be selling the same items, you need to look entirely different.

:peace: | I am currently with optimum.
So you mean for every account a different service provider?
Is it really necessary? |
| Jennifer91 | 02-04-2016 06:56 PM | Re: Question about IP addresses It's important to change IP's even for newer accounts so it has it's own history under a VPN. Let's say 1 account goes down and anything linked on that IP will go down as well creating a link between accounts. I've lost 20 like this in the past. Do you want to risk it and have all that money go bye bye for 6 months?
Learn from others mistakes and the stealth book gives you advice and people on here so do take it do not fight it! It's best in the long run for you. |

Nothing
My comments are addessed to methods of using the internet with different providers.
VPN is not the only way. |

Is it really necessary? | I wouldn't say *necessary* but it's a bonus to the accounts security... if you go the VPN route it's easy to have different 'service providers'. |

VPN is not the only way. | Hello GB, :) Can't wait to pm you.
"so why would you even need to change the IP address if you are managing the new account under a different user ID?" I was replying to this part. Maybe I misunderstood it or read it wrong. :au: |

Those accounts are bullet proof? Considering that I do know how to run and manage a stealth account. |

It will work for stealth |

But sucks because at times it is very slow. |
| meoshisha | 02-04-2016 10:52 PM | Re: Question about IP addresses The book is a basic knowledge for you to get to know how stealth works. Sometimes it outdated a bit. Technology changes everyday, eBay does. Don't use Ally & Capital One bank, as both of them are blacklisted by PP |

No such thing as a bullet proof account.

| technokidd1 | 02-05-2016 05:38 AM | Re: Question about IP addresses Which option the best and explain why?
1. Tethering Smartphone 4G Data
2. Comcast Xfinity Wireless Router
3. Xfinity Local Hotspots
4. VPN's such as (Hotspot Shield, PureVPN)
I've been using option number 4 for 2 years now on all of my accounts without an issue. I know many are going to it's the worst but I beg to differ. |
| meoshisha | 02-05-2016 04:30 PM | Re: Question about IP addresses VPN is perfect, because you can use it to login to your accounts in anywhere, especially when you travel. 4G/hotspots are just temporary situation, they are cheap but the IP is not dedicated, and when you travel outside of the US, you couldn't login into your accounts, and it also take a lot of time to reset/changing the IP. |
