Ebay tracks your hardware !

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I was at my girfriends place and tried to repost some items that were sold - using her computer
I got a message that The computer hardware doesn't match....and asked me to verify by phone the new location (like when you open the account with pin code)
My guess is that they track you MAC address.
If anyone has any information about that please share.
