Quick question about month to month limits

If i hypothetically had a $500 item limit for the month..could I technically wait until the last day of that month and list the full $500 worth, then the next day since it will be a new month list another $500 since the limits would reset every month?

You could.....but what would be the purpose for this?

But you wouldn't be giving your stock a chance to sell would you?

Also, this would be far from optimal to get limit increases.

Just asking because in the future my vendor I deal with min. order is 10k.
So I was wondering when my limits eventually get to 5k/month if I could just purchase 10k in stock and list 5k the day before the month ends, then the remaining 5k the next day so I would not have any stock sitting around for another month.

Are things significantly different in the US then?

If I put 100 items on the 31st of March and none sell on a 'BIN' I do not get another 100 items the following day, as my April 100 items are already listed.

I would recommend you spread sales slowly across the month.....too much too quick is gonna make Ebay/PP nervous. Remember, you still have to contend with "Category Limits".

The seller limits are a rolling total. The limits reset on the last day of the month but your ability to list is a total of the dollar amount you have active so if you listed $500 on the last day of the month they will stay there until the auctions end or the item sells. They won't give you another $500 to list. Once those items fall off by either ending or selling, then your ability to list more would change by the dollar amount of the items that did not sell. The ones that did sell will apply towards your $500 limit. It's a total of $500, doesn't matter what day you start them.

**assuming selling limits of 10 items and a total of $500 sales
If you list $500 on the last day of the month it will look like this
until something ends or sells

10 listed------0 available
0 sales-------$500 available

On the 5th of the following month, of those same 10 items, 2 of them
sell for $100 total and 1 ends without a buyer

7 items listed--------1 available (2 sold so 7+1+2=10 total)
$100 sales ----------$400 available

That would be your 10 items and a total of $500 in sales/listed

You can only list 1 more item because 7 are currently active and 2 have sold
You can only sell $400 more because you already have $100 in sales

Got it, thank you.

My suggestion would be to spread the inventory over multiple accounts. There is no guarantee when/if your limits will increase.

I wouldn't want to tick eBay off. Spread sales would be best
