I need a clear answer on ebay

Question..............

Can anybody give me clear and cut answers...?

So if I were to make a new Ebay account now, do I need to have a verified Paypal account to sell my household goods?

Will they make me sign up for paypal before i sell?

Whats the scoop?

No, You do not need a Paypal account to sell on ebay. When you list your items you will see the "Decide how you'd like to be paid Add or remove options | Get help" Click on that and you will be able to change your payment method to one of the following below.

Options for Ebay Payment
1)Require immediate payment through PayPal when a buyer uses Buy It Now
2)Independent merchant account credit cards
3)ProPay
4)Receive payment upon pickup

Now as for being paypal verified. You do not need to be paypal verified to sell on ebay but you will have a receiving and sending limit of $500.00 a month. The only way to lift that $500.00 receiving and sending limit is to become "Verified". Most buyers will pay with credit card through their paypal account. You do not get charged any Paypal fees within your $500.00 limit. Once you hit your $500.00 receiving limit you will have to decide to Upgrade to a "Premier Account" which means you will be able to accept more credit card payments and you will be charged "Paypal Transaction Fees"

I hope this is clear cut for you.

SO WILL PAYPAL LIMIT MY ACCOUNT FOR ANYTHING UNDER $500? And if I select merchant account will i have to fax in proof?

DON'T SHOUT when you ask a question,fhs
Yes, paypal will likely limit you. (at least give you a 21 day hold for any amount)
Yes you must fax in merchant documents
Who would want a merchant account to sell household goods?;)
Don't ask for a clear answer and ebay in the same question because there could never be one:rolleyes: You would need to read carefully as to
what to do.

This is how I read your question. I am making an account and want to start off
selling household goods. Later when I have FB, I will change the items I will sell.
What will happen about paypal & a merchant account.
(more or less on target?)

"will they make me sign up to paypal before I sell....?"

I didnt, I got away with entering 2 different email address's without Paypal set up at the other end and I listed for over 2 weeks. Made it difficult to persuade people I could only take cheque/tansfer as I dont have a merchant!

I made a "test account" several months ago. Checked paypal as payment method and used a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email address not registered to paypal. Five minutes later the account went down.
