interesting seller limit lift
 

I was at 500 usd 50 items for the longest time. I decided to call in as I do sometimes. Instead of telling me what they were going to lift me to, they let me DECIDE! Yes you heard me right, they asked me what I needed. No id verification other than address on account. I didn't even call in from the phone number on file, just my personal cell. So all they needed was user id and verified address.

I chose a conservative 100 items 3000 usd limit and the way the csr was acting I could have went much higher. But didn't want to push or feel comfortable doing so. Also they asked what I was selling and why I needed the money.

I'm confused, how the hell does that work? Or should I not look a gift horse in the mouth? Account has had other sales in the past and aged almost a year for info. I cant believe they let me pick....:clap:

P.s. Interesting tidbit. Before the increase, csr looked into accoutn saw no issues. She did suggest I use more than 2 images per auction. She said the more pictures I use, the higher the item is ranked in the search algorithm. Is this true? Although I have no idea how to take 11 photos as she suggested of a fridge thermostat or tv power board for example..loL! :eek::doh:

Looks like you 'fell' on a good Customer rep.
That is definitely not always the case and you could have just as easily got someone who would have asked you personal 'public database' questions.

Congratz! I think not pushing too hard for too high limits was smart on your part also.

Also a tad social "engineering" as well. She asked what I needed the money for and told I'm addicted to blinking lights and bells. She said excuse me? I said slot machines, lost 5 g's in December which is true. My wife is going to kill me and I need to recover and sell my toys. Also true. Built a re pore with her...mmm. Yes I agree, one of the good ones and also no offense but a american. Spoke perfect English. I hate calling and get broken English and person reading a script. She was perfect, should have asked for her direct line. Although that probably would have been a bad idea for the others..lol.:dance:

Yeah, the time of day that you call will get you diff call centers in diff countries, so you picked a good time. I like the US call center the best too. They seem to have more lead way with what they can do, plus they are friendlier.
