Problems with Mozilla, Anyone else?

Lately I have been having a lot of problems with Mozilla. I used to use to all the time a few months ago, but recently everytime I try to open it, I get some kind of error message saying they cant find some file to open Mozilla. I try to reinstall it and itll work for a while then the message comes back. Now, Mozilla wont even open any websites.

Does anyone use Internet Explorer or anything other than Mozilla to sell?

I've only used Internet Explorer and never have had a single problem yet. I just use different user accounts.

try to update your browser' version to the new one.
it works good for me.

There is also opera. I have used it in years, because they charged for it, and the free version had ads built into the menu. I think its free now and without advertisements. What error is it giving you. And the next time you uninstall it, delete the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder then reinstall it.

I use IE7 for everything, and Opera as my back-up browser.

I personally have never been a fan of FireFox but I know it is highly recommended on this forum.

I really don't see what difference it makes as long as you keep everything on separate user accounts on your computer.

Sometimes when I open it, it will just say 404 ERROR, whatever that means.

Sounds like a connection issue. Check your network settings and make sure everything is correct.

A 404 is a "Page cannot be found" error. Network problem like aspkin said. Could be a firewall, or the network settings in your browser.

I'm having great problems with FF timing out in recent days. Anyone know about this?

GreenBean 02-07-2009 10:42 PM

^^^ So am I. Been timing out for the past 6 days. Have you cleared cookies? I have gone
to TOOLS & used Clear Data etcetc. Has made things better. Am late to do a defrag & that. Which version of FF are you using?

vicki paar 02-08-2009 10:04 PM

Firefox will not let me do the pictures on auctiva and also will not let me do the enhanced pics on Ebay, been bad lately.

I run a Mac system and have had NO problems with FireFox on either eBay or Auctiva.

BooMer 02-09-2009 11:58 AM

I have no problems, my version is Firefox 2.0.0.16 on Windows XP on Desktop.
and Firefox 3.0.6 on Windows Vista on the Notebook.

Try to reinstall the older versions.

If it still don't work then you might have a spyware/malware in your system. Run a scan.

GreenBean Thanks for the response. I had run ccleaner but will also go to TOOLS & use Clear Data. My version is 2, I had read something about avoiding 3, but don't know. Should I go to version 3?

Thanks

aspkin 02-09-2009 05:08 PM

I'm on 3.0.6 and it's running fine.

Uninstall firefox and clean the registry along with any other traces of files.

I use Cyberscrub and Window washer. Together they get all the areas covered.

Also, Use registry first aid and registry mechanic together to completely clean the registry of any old app settings.
