www.weusecoins.com

Hi guys,

I was wondering what you guys thought about the new ecommerce site coming out that uses only bitcoin for payment

Its called OpenBazaar

https://openbazaar.org/

https://www.weusecoins.com/

No middle man that can remove listings.... Called "an Anarchist ebay on Acid"...

Sounds like it could be fee free place no middle man like paypal or CC processor....

Due to open next month and backed by some millionaires...

Nice concepts but it's going to be slow to accepted by the masses.

Lot of people are still stupefied by bitcoin and have been brainwashed by eb and Az and PP...

You only need Chinese suppliers to adapt this and it would take off faster then you can say "Alibaba"...

Sounds like it will be heaven for those trying to list high risk items......

Sounds very interesting, I'm all for a market place where there are no listing fee's, bitcoins are pretty stable now days too, which should give everyone the security they need to trade in this currency.

Interesting. But as others said, it will be quite awhile for it to see success like eBay or Amazon, if it even does, due to bitcoin being the only payment. 90% of people in the U.S. have probably never even done a transaction with bitcoin.

Re: www.weusecoins.com

These places are going to be a haven for scammers if there really won't be anyone moderating sales. I mean, think about it. Bitcoin is "completely untraceable" and non-chargebackable. People will start listing $2000 macbooks as soon as the sites launch. I'm sure there will be tons of people listing high dollar items, receiving BTC payments, and never shipping anything. Why would you ship anything if the buyer can't possibly get their money back?

So due to the implausibility of this concept I highly doubt these sites will ever go anywhere. Especially since they will be competing with eBay and Amazon who both have air-tight buyer/seller protection programs.

Great concept on paper but there's going to end up being tons of people getting ripped off.

It may become a market for illegal items.

Yes... But if you have a regular supplier you deal with on a regular basis You could agree to come here and it would be a great way to make a transaction without losing money to middleman like paypal, etc...

The only ones who would probably be interested in long-term business and actually shipping the items -- would be drug sellers and other illegals... :D

Otherwise, what else would you buy without any customer protection?

If it's a supplier you trust like that it would be so much easier to just pay T/T, W/U, or Moneygram, don't you think?

I have VERY limited experience with BTC. But the one time I bought some I had to go into Bank of America and deposit money into some random stranger's account. Then like 3 days later the BTC's showed up. I know it's come a long way and sites like coinbase make it much easier, but it's still a hassle IMO.

On a side note, the $50 I spent on BTC a few years ago had grown to a little over $300 the last time I checked. Kinda wish I would've bought more. :/
