Shipping on a new account?
 

I have listed my first item on my new account and will need to invest some money to cover shipping costs while the payment is still on hold. My understanding is that you do not want PayPal to dip into your bank account to acquire funds because they may access your name... do I need to add money into my PayPal account? How exactly would I go about adding money to my account?

If your paypal account is verified meaning CC an Bank when you go ship you item with paypal it will give a option to print the shipping label an pay when the money is available

How are you purchasing shipping? You shouldn't need to add money to PayPal.

List your item
Item sells
Buyer pays
PayPal hold funds
Package item
Walk to post office and post using cash
Upload tracking
Item delivered
PayPal release funds eventually
Withdraw
Rinse and repeat... ;)

You can also ship with an alternate shipping company like Endicia.

They have a 30 day trial offer, so just use them until money is available in your PP account.

You can ship with the "pay later" option...after you sign up for the billing agreement.

When you attempt to print your first label, you'll see the billing agreement option. Sign up. I then had to log out of eBay and then log back in, print the label and the option to pay later was there. At least that's how it went down for me.
