Is there a way to get rid of google ads on eBay?
 

Im referring to those ads "sponsored links" that appear on a sold/ended item page right above item´s picture. They are big and horrible scrolling you up or down when they load.

I have adBlock enabled and it doesn´t do anything against them.

Is there a way to get rid of them or they are all mighty ads? :rant:

You might want to try some other ad blocking software then. Or get used to some ads.
But... I always encourage people not to use adblock as many websites (especially smaller ones) supply useful content for free in exchange of showing a few ads. :)

There is a feature in adblock plus where you can block an element of a webpage if some ads are leaking through this is the best way.

I know that feature but when right click on this particular ads that option is not there to select. They seem to be powerful ads :smash:

Ads that you are describing is more like your computer is infected with spyware/adware.

My suggestion would be to check your system for malware etc. Do a backup too and a system restore if needed.

Then consider adding whatever might work AFTER you confirm anything from the check.

What computer and system etc are you using?

Yes! Probably the guys are right about spyware/adware.
It could even be an annoying browser plugin/extension.

I recently had a situation where suddenly I began to see some unfamiliar ads on my own website. I almost had a hear attack because I thought my site was hacked or etc. (I was browsing with firefox).
But when I visited it via Chrome -- everything seemed to be fine and no ads were visible.

So I tracked down that somehow my FF browser was using an extension of some kind which I didn't intentionally install (I can't remember it's name now though..).
And after removing it -- the ads disappeared.

OK. I will check it, ckecked it not long ago. Im using windows 7, computer has no brand.
These ads are the usual google ads, they appear only on already sold listings loading at the beggining of the the page of the listing. This is on ebay.com. So you dont see them?. Yeah maybe something is displaying, will pass usual antiware tools. Thank you guys :thumb:

Passed spybot scan and one form antivirus and there are things but they are all cookies, flash objects, browse history, green color thread all of them so low level. Many from ebay and paypal, from the different windows users. I dont know if it is advised from a stealth point of view to remove them, guess not since device trust comes from them correct?. I dont see any thread from scan really.

I see the google ads also with internet explorer so it cant be a plugin/extension on firefox?.

I read an article recently, I think it was on Arstechnica said Adblock Plus is allowing certain ads to pass through their filter because they are paid big bucks for it. :(
