Question regarding brand protection

Hi

I have someone who has purchased an item of clothing from me and the person's contact details show that they are from the brand protecion team of the said product. The items I sell are discounted via a employee discount scheme which I then sell on ebay for a small profit. Sometimes I buy from other ebay sellers and then sell on. The items are original and new. I would like to know how to proceed. Do I send the item to this buyer?? if I cancel the transaction that may look more suspicious.

Thanks
Max

If you honestly have nothing to hide then I would not worry. The only concern I would have is the employee discount scheme, I assume this is something the employer would frown upon. Might mean someone losing their job?

IF you are selling new and genuine, there is no reason to worry

Nothing to worry about if the item itself is all above board.

You may have trouble reselling discount items obtained using employee discount though, usually that is a bit frowned upon.

Firstly, dont cancel, will definitely look suspicious, and they will escalate the matter, i.e. might ask for proof of authenticity, documentation of suppliers etc. which in your case would be the wrong route.

Secondly, if your working for large department stores, they do often look on places like ebay to cross link your purchase history with your sale history. If theres a lot of similarities in both, they may seize your privilege, or worst case, give you the sack.

Tread carefully.

Re: Question regarding brand protection

Hi

The brand protection person has now come back stating that they want to return the said item for an exchange for another one of my listed items. I feel this is really to get my address details!!

Should I just say that I don't do exchanges or do I go ahead and just offer the refund??

I know that they can get my address and would like to know what they could do as the items are genuine. I'm a little worried!!

Thx

If item is genuine, and you know this is the brand protection team, honour an exchange, maybe they want to ensure you havnt sent just one stock that is genuine. Again, if genuine, nothing to hide.
