Will YOU buy eBay Branded Shipping Supplies?
 

Would you pay for shipping supplies that have the eBay logo on them?

EBay Shipping Supplies is using eBay to sell eBay-branded boxes in 25-count packages that cost $14.97-$27.03 and padded envelopes in 100-count packages for $20.44-$33.87.

Now, I use a lot of bubble mailers, I go through about 500 per week. And the size that I use costs about $70 for 500 envelopes. So, unless eBay is going to provide some sort of a discount on bulk orders, why on earth would I spend at least double for them just because eBay's logo is on the envelope?

So ebay is now selling shipping supplies?
If so, they are taking the same step as amazon selling bar codes at astronomical prices successfully.

People will pay the premium because they will feel like they can trust ebay to provide good supplies (IMO). People who know better will not buy from ebay shipping supplies. Also consider that by ebay selling these at higher prices, they also have more room to discount or offer specials.

"Mr. Weico, today you can purchase from our store at 80% off" and such. Some people dont always see past the sale and see the true price compared to others real prices.

I wont be paying for it.

I get my shipping supplies cheap enough and ACTIVELY do whatever is in my power to remove ebay logos from my packaging. Plus their fees are retarded enough so its another reason for them to pinch us.

Plus then your supplies are limited to ebay sales... I use shipping supplies through multiple selling sources including my to own website so why go that route...

yes they will be offering discounts shop owners....

This is a punch in the mouth to supply sellers like Uline who have already commented publicly that they are not pleased, but will adjust and overcome....

ebay is getting desperate for extra revenue for stock holders....

I can get supplies for 25 bucks for 300 pcs with eBay sellers! Forget those eBay logo supplies!

@newjerseymax, they need to get rid of that 1.00 premium fee for 1 and 3 day auctions to increase revenue for their stock holders, since they implemented it, I have had to create a whole lot more accounts.

It is smart for them to get into this... I've read that shipping supplies are one of the top sellers for online merchants.

But no, I reuse packaging / get free supplies from USPS and don't pay for anything but shipping tape.

If you own a eBay store basic or premium you get like $20 or 50 credit for this crap. So I assume I will end up using whatever credit I have to get this garbage having an eBay store. But paying extra no.

My guess is this lasts about a year than is discontinued.

I will never used Ebay branded anything.

I get my boxes from "half price boxes", a store that I just found that very good prices on boxes. Bubble envelopes I get them from ebay. 100 envelopes 12.5x19 for 30-$35.

hell no. my business is not in the business of making more profit for EB.

my personal supplier is amazing and blows those prices out of the water just like you said jeff.

I'll buy them if they offer me a cheaper deal than what I currently pay for envelopes.

I doubt this will be successful. If people need to buy from eBay to feel ok, how have they been shipping all this time?

But I'm probably being wayyyy to optimistic about the intelligence of the average person....

The more serious business person will always find the best deal on materials. Who ever buys these ebay branded shipping items are just casual sellers or like someone said "lazy".

I am sure these ebay branded items are at the top of the search list, no matter how the feedback or other matrix are. People always go for the top search item on a search list.

Oh yes you can guarantee that! Plus you can start seeing competitors listings disappearing for long periods of time... They say its a third party providing them the packaging. I wonder who this third party is and if they are located in the USA.....
