Neutral feedback issue with buyer

In my description for my item I list as "next day shipping."
I slipped up on one item....admit it was my fault.

The buyer bought the item on April 12, and I shipped it out on April 14th.
I sent a personal message to the buyer that I sincerely apologize for the one day delay in shipping and as a result shipped it out priority, and the buyer had his item DELIVERED on April 15.

The buyer then leaves a neutral feedback stating "next time do what you promise."
I messaged the buyer and stated that the priority mail I sent out delivered faster than if I had shipped it out next day first class, and I do not understand the neutral feedback and would greatly appreciate if it was revised.

What do you guys think?

Don't keep getting worked up over nothing and stop taking things personally.

By sending that email you brought to the buyers attention something that they probably were not even aware of before you mentioned it. You also made yourself come across as a total noob, and were lucky you were not taken advantage of in a bigger way if the item was of value.

Really, now you are getting hung up about realdeals comment, maybe you really do need to step back and relax a bit more, life is to short to let things get to you so easily, that is what realdeals meant.

Number one rule of dealing with buyers on ebay.........don't ever come across as weak. Some of these guys are like dogs who can smell fear. Believe it or not you will find there are people out there who can actually make a pretty good living from weak ebay sellers.

Tuff buyer. He might agree to revise and leave low stars and a negative.....

If you don't send the first email I would say there is a 90% chance you don't get the neutral. As soon as you send it you show weakness and leave yourself open.

Never bring attention to yourself unless you absolutely have to.

Just my opinion. Sure there may be many here who would disagree. :peace:

I think real deal is referring to the message I left to the buyer..in which case I was trying to be as polite as possible....I thought that was called good customer service....but I stand corrected....I guess its just "weak":

There can be a fine line between polite and desperate. My instinct tells me that more likely you sounded the latter.

The first email was sent as a reply to his inquiry about shipping....in any business endeavor it is better to be polite and sincere....I was just trolling before actually....real deal is obviously wrong lol

Well I don't need 'luck'. It doesn't exist.....probability does. :typing:

Here is another prime example of you starting a thread because you have an issue, then you can't take the advice in a positive way. Glad the other 64,000 members are not like you and post every time they get a neutral.......there would be more spam here than in WW2. Hilarious.:bounce:

Nah....I can take advice..and other users have provided me with good advice...it just happens to be that your advice is horrible..theres no shame in admitting you might be wrong about things once in awhile..it shows humility..oh but WAIT...thats weak!:nono:

I am not wrong though.

Still, carry on and do what you want, you normally do hence why you keep starting new threads asking for help.

I look forward to your next thread title......'Negative feedback issue with buyer'........'Refund issue with buyer'.......'Feedback extortion issue with buyer'......'insert reason here' with buyer.

Keep doing things how you are.....seems to be working for ya!

........

What do you guys think?

My .2cents

This is a gray area.

This is where a seller keeps the control.
I would try to avoid feeding the buyer anything HE can use to harm me.

Now, in your case, I get you sincerely thought this was good customer service. It is not good when it gets used against you...
Some buyers are going to leap on a written communication.

Holding off you may have manage no feedback at all....

Win win for you there.

A negative drops off...

Fiddling with buyers will come against you...
Control your sales.
Such is selling online.

:peace:

Re: Neutral feedback issue with buyer

I am certain neutral and negative feedback is looked at by ebay as being equal. But you have just got to let it go. Once you become a big seller, you will have people leaving positive feedback as negative etc. and you will not have the time of day to chase them up.

Just focus on growth/success of your existing business model. Let the haters hate. Shake it off.
