| | | Retailer77 | 04-20-2016 01:13 PM | Do templates really make a difference If you have an ebay store without a template, or without some fancy store design, but you have the best pricing, do you guys really think it makes a difference?
I think price always wins..but maybe I am wrong. |
Re: Do templates really make a difference As a shopper on EBay, i could care less about design, I just care about accurate and precise information, good pictures, and price. |
Re: Do templates really make a difference Not at all, I tend to prefer the plain & simple straight to the point listings. I don't want to have to scroll through paragraphs of fluff just to find the details of the item, if you have clear pictures and a sentence or two describing the item that's more than enough for me |

I think since more and more eBay users are on mobile devices, the main picture and title and price are all that factors for most sales |
| GhostOfAmazon | 04-20-2016 11:15 PM | Re: Do templates really make a difference I personally like the look of templates.
Do they make a difference to my sales? Probably not. But for my top selling items that I always keep in stock, to me, it's worth the extra 70 cents, because it's a one-time fee.
Now, I don't use it on auctions, nor on items I only have a handful of. But for my big sellers, I spring for it. |

Bad enough when have use notebook with wifi instead of using much faster wired dsl connection. 0% of my PayPal sales mobile devices so apparently I appeal to people who think like me.
I use the flip phones why I never do internet on it as I hate dumbphones. My mother hates my dad's iphone she loved it back when only had flip phone. |
Re: Do templates really make a difference My Mom is still rocking the flip-phone....My Dad has at least gone with a smartphone only because his job forced him into one....should of seen the hours it took to teach him! |

Best way of knowing is to test it on multiple devices yourself. A lot of times you have top scroll right to read the title, never mind the descriptions.
Now, 6+ pictures is VERY helpful in sales. |

Re: Do templates really make a difference Some buyers don't even read the whole listing so... |
Re: Do templates really make a difference Look at how successful Amazon is. Look at how bland their listings are. Answers your question? |

I sell items at twice the price, for the EXACT SAME THING, on accounts with less feedback......why, because of the way my listing looks......
People will pay more for a professionally done listing. Now, does the border matter, of course not....but content certainly does in many cases. Not for EVERY buyer, but for some. |

Not for EVERY buyer, but for some. | I agree with you to some extent. Sometimes it does matter. Sometimes it doesnt. I would say some care, some dont, but a lot of buyers dont even read the listing!. |

Re: Do templates really make a difference True. Its also worth noting if a listing is over saturated with text... its unlikely anyone will read it.
Im personally an impulse buyer, I know what I want, the price I want it at, flick through sellers *negative ratings* and description to ensure its not fishy, and hit buy it now. Works a treat for me. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:57 PM. | |
