Accepting a returned item through a stealth account?

The address associated with the Stealth account was made up by the seller I purchased the account from a few years ago.

I recently sold a valuable item and the buyer is getting picky about the condition, so I'm just going to allow a refund and get this over with.

But they opened a dispute/claim through PayPal. If I agree to the refund in the dispute, will PayPal then send him a message with my stealth address on file, telling him he must send the item back to THAT address?

You can add an address for returns.

If it gets escalated without your resolution, ebay/paypal will automatically supply your address on file, so it is best not to let that happen.

He already escalated it within an hour from a dispute to a claim.

Or do you mean they'll supply the address on file if I don't respond by the mandatory date?

Before the time comes up.

Ok thanks. Here's the options I have. I want to select the second option, however when I did that and clicked continue, it said that the buyer would have to provide proof he shipped them back, which I worry if he does, it'll show my real address associated with my real eBay account - therefore possibly leading to a link.

And where do I add the address for returns?

check box two and then it will ask for the return address. Make sure you use a good address not related to banned accounts.

I may sound like a broken record on this one, but I would do this:

Go to the Post Office and get an address forwarding form. Fill it out to have mail forwarded from your stealth address to your real address.

The PO will now handle forwarding any mail returned to a stealth address to your real address for either 6 months or a year. It would be easy enough to fill out the forms again once or twice a year.

The only caveat I'm not sure about is if forwarding will work for an address that is fictional. I would be concerned that the PO would perhaps know that the old address is fictional and kick back the request.
