Seller selling same thing bought from me?
 

Someone who sells the exact same item to me just bought my item, they are a bigger store that has been running a much longer time than me with many more sales so I'm not sure why they would buy my item when they sell it also?

What would you do in this situation? Should I cancel and refund them? It seems like they might be up to something. But I'm worried if I cancel the order that might make it worse.

(this happened on my etsy store but the same would apply to eBay I assume).

Could be short on inventory and drop shipping to a buyer. Could be someone checking quality of your item.

I buy from competitors all the time for a variety of reasons.

Some people buy cheap and sell high, especially if their feedback is higher. I would just watch it. If its only 1 item i wouldn't worry.

The address is their office and they even have the company name in the address. Its a clothing item so just seems slightly strange.

They may be making sure it is authentic.

I decided to just cancel and refund the buyer. Not worth the risk even if it is just one item.

With a vast array of products to choose from, it bugs me when competitors go out of their way to bring down their competition.

Its happened to me before on eBay and I was fine with it but etsy is worse for competitors trying to take you down. I've heard they buy from you then complain to etsy saying something damaging and you can get your seller account shut down from it.

Etsy is another selling market altogether - the craft-ladies and ppl are very powerful with their niches...

A competitor buying from you is a pain.

It is rare to be done with good intent.

If you cancel and refund seller more likely leave -ve feedback to you maybe he short of stock so purchase from you best to send him message and explain you sell see stuff so why purchased from me

This does happen for a LOT of reasons, if the products that you are selling are NOT "China Specials" you will not have a problem

truthfully since you and the buyer is aware of the game that is being played, asked the buyer is their a particular reason that he choose to buy from you and see what he says. Also buy from him as well and note the city that he is in so if you get anymore purchases from that city then cancel it

I have a small item I buy, and sell to a specific niche. Ordered them 3x this week from the same seller.
