Verifying Paypal Account to Sell
 

For a strictly selling eBay account, do I need to load both a credit card and a bank account to the associated Paypal account to be able to make a sale? Or is only one specifically needed?

paypal for selling ideally should be bank verified and vcc confirmed.

paypal look and want trust with accounts.

Welcome to the forums OP - as GB indicated, the measures suggested are for good safe PP operation. Do not use old info - all new.

What I was wondering was if I could sell on eBay (short-term) with only a VBA or VCC attached to the Paypal account? Or are both required to be able to list and sell an item?

The reason I'm asking is because I've been looking into purchasing an account from this forum and have noticed that the large majority of sellers sell the accounts with only a VCC verifying the account. Would just a VCC allow me to list and test the account? Or would just a VBA, as one seller offers on their acounts, be enough to test?

You can sell with just a VCC but it really isn't advised at all - brings scrutiny to the account.

VBA would work and then confirm the VCC / Gift card

Thanks vetus! So just a VBA could allow me to test the account? After which I would then add the VCC for full verification.

yes correct - it allows users to not burn real bank accounts before the account is up and running.

USA is luckily enough to have it unlike the UK :)

Keep in mind if you are selling, and bringing funds into paypal, they want to perceive the account is trustworthy.

It would be risky as you propose in case you are asked for invoices etc.

Thanks GreenBean for the advice. I'm not looking to actually complete the sale - just to confirm that a listing can be made without any undue flags from eBay.

You need to be careful of your photos, your wording...
