Default A friendly reminder from eBay's Trust and Safety department EMAIL

Ok here is the deal. I am currently leaving all my feedback as positive with 1 star DSR Rating for all my items that I purchased. I figure the more the people do this then ebay will get the idea for getting rid of the DSR ratings or make some Big changes to really reflect the true ratings. Well I just got this email from ebay Trust and Safety. It seems if I continue to do what I'm doing then I will probably get my account suspended even though this suppose to be a "Friendly Reminder". So watch out people.

BooMer

"Dear BooMer,

We encourage all buyers to leave honest and accurate Feedback after
buying an item on eBay. When buyers leave an overall Feedback rating
(positive, neutral, or negative) for a seller, they can also leave
detailed seller ratings in four areas: accuracy of item description,
communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges.

It looks like you've left positive Feedback with low detailed seller
ratings. We understand that there are several reasons why you may have
done this:

- The detailed seller ratings left are accurate, but you're worried you
may receive negative Feedback if you leave a neutral or negative for
your seller.
- You think 1 is the highest (or best) detailed seller rating that you
can leave for a seller.
- It is an attempt to intentionally to hurt a seller's reputation
without the seller knowing.

We wanted to contact you to let you know more about Feedback and the
impact of leaving low detailed seller ratings with a positive Feedback
rating and comment.

Buyers can no longer get neutral or negative Feedback from sellers. So,
the best way to let eBay, the seller, and other buyers know about your
experience is by leaving appropriate Feedback. You can give honest
Feedback without worrying about getting negative or neutral Feedback in
return.

The detailed seller rating system is based on a one- to five-star scale.
Five stars is the highest (or best) rating, and one star is the lowest
(or worst) rating.

It is against eBay policy to try to harm a seller's reputation
intentionally by purchasing an item with the intent of leaving
inaccurate Feedback. If eBay determines that this is happening, we'll
take action against the member. You can learn more about Feedback
policies here:
Feedback Policies - Overview

It is important to eBay, the seller, and other buyers that buyers leave
appropriate Feedback for sellers. There may be times when it is
appropriate to leave positive Feedback and low detailed seller ratings.
However, in most cases, if the detailed seller ratings deserve a low
score, the overall seller rating should also be low.

For more information about leaving Feedback, go to:
eBay: Redirect

Sincerely,

eBay Trust and Safety team"

Yeah, I wouldn't keep doing that if I were you. It's an easy way to lose your account.

Why would do you do that if the transaction was a good one? Ebay is going to do what they want too do anyways, why damage a sellers rep for it. Screw eBay not the community.

I just notice ebay removed all the Positive feedback I left for the sellers but they didn't take theirs from mine. I'm going to stop doing this to prevent from being suspended. I am only one of the few people who do this. It was noted in one of the threads in this forum (I think in the Feedback section) that someone suggested that we all get together to give all sellers low DSR and the more people who do it then the more impact it will have on the outcome. The big picture is for Ebay to re-evaluate their DSR Ratings. For example: You offer Free shipping and you will still get a low star rating no matter what. The list goes on and on.

I just wanted to post this so other people that are doing what I did will know that ebay is aware of this and it may cause you to lose your account.

Ebay Radio Jim Griffith in the "Ask Griff" show also talks about changing the DSR system and he works for ebay.

It is really unfair to the sellers you bought items from. They don't deserve that.

If you got suspended this time, the story should not be callled another "ebay horry story".

All we try to do is to get back onto ebay and stay there. We don't need to hurt innocent people.

I'm not really hurting their Reputation as far as feedback goes. I still give them Positive and leave a nice comment. Remember DSR is anonymous to the sellers. I too get undeserved Low star rating, but what can I do about it if you follow everything by the rules.

True, it doesn't necessarily hurt their reputation but it can effect their standing or goals for powerseller status.

Wow , glad not everyone does this or my dsr's would be too low to list/sale , therefore taking food out of my kids mouth.... if you want to make a statement just dont leave any dsr ratings that is what i often do if i am in a hurry at least it does not hurt innocent peoples accounts....

^^^ Yes, exactly!

Seller lose their ability to list, completely, if their DSR's go below 4.1. I guess you didn't know this, and that's why it seemed like a good way to protest the DSR system. It isn't.

You are having zero impact on Ebay's policy decisions and a terrible impact on the seller's you "negged" unfairly.

^^^^ You are proving my point exactly. I know all about the DSR Ratings and what it can do to a seller. As for having "Zero Impact" on Ebay Policy I think different. The more sellers who get Limited or suspended the more they are likely to complain to ebay and ebay will take notice. If you remember when Ebay didn't allow Feedback removal Ebay pissed off a lot of sellers and before you know it Ebay changed their policies to allow feedback withdrawal now.

Ebay rely on the Buyers and Sellers complaints to undo what they thought was good.

You will thank me when that day comes when Ebay will revise their DSR ratings and I will be the first to post it here.

You may lose some of your people in battle to win the fight.

Hurting innocent Sellers is not winnning a battle .. if you want to prove a point just stop selling on ebay that way you only hurt ebay and yourself.
