- - Linking bot basics..

| stressed08 | 04-29-2016 04:21 PM | Linking bot basics.. Are bots linking everyone all of the time.... or only in the case of suspected problems? Are top rated accounts linked as frequently and in the same way suspended accounts are?
How long is the information stored... over the course of months? weeks? or indefinately on suspect accounts? What about on solid accounts?
How are accounts selected for manual review? Is it random, or the results of a semi-match by a bot? |
| aspkin | 04-29-2016 04:23 PM | Re: Linking bot basics.. I don't like how people say 'bots', there are no bots.
Instead it's a system that was built that does 'checks' and in that can flag an account for review, etc.
No bots though.
Just wanted to mention that. :) |
| phaz0rz | 04-29-2016 04:27 PM | Re: Linking bot basics.. Sadly, only an Ebay employee would be able to give a definitive answer to any of your questions.
I can say with near certainty though that top-rated, good performing accounts are not usually linked (or messed with in any way) if they aren't causing problems. Ebay welcomes the revenue and will only intervene if needed..
Oh, and manual reviews are triggered when you attempt to do something that Ebay does not yet trust you to do (e.g. sell an iPhone). As long as you properly build up your accounts and don't try to recycle account info, you shouldn't have to worry about manual reviews. |
| stressed08 | 04-29-2016 04:44 PM | Re: Linking bot basics.. I'm going to go for it and use another top rated account...from a new computer... now that my other top rated account is restricted.
I will report back with results... going to also take the risk of changing my email, the only (sort of) link to my past life. Its better than leaving it semi connected to an old PayPal.
Will report back on how this goes... may give some insight onto how scrutinized good standing accounts are. (I used the same IP a handfull of times in the past, and now this email change.... if it goes through it's probably safe to say good accounts are less watched over) |

Re: Linking bot basics.. You want insight? Learn stealth - make backup accounts. Consider that information is held for long time... |

Information is stored at the very least for years if not forever.. especially information that doesn't change, such as SSN, email, bank details.
I've started this whole stealth mess 8-9 years ago, guess what? I can't sign up for a new account with my original email address, it's flagged.
Reviews happen periodically from what I've experienced, you'll never know about it a majority of the time. Just make sure to follow eBay Stealth exactly, along with the "helpful" replies in the forum and you'll be okay.
Good luck! |

| miketyson | 05-01-2016 07:53 AM | Re: Linking bot basics.. you can always sign upwith a suspended email if it's gmail. Just add a dot to it. Different to everybody else but gmail is blind to the dot. |
