Android VPN Status check

Hi everyone.

Just wondering if there is any way to check VPN status on android device?
Tried to search for some app or setting to close the app or browser when VPN goes down but was not able to find anything.
I do use VPN check on windows machine but need one on my tablet as well.
I seen many stealth users moving to mobiles or tablets. Just wondering how do you manage all the things?
