Why do certain listings get more traffic despite..

Having a higher price...I was browsing some items and I noticed an item selling for $185 sold 35 pieces in a day, where the same exact item in even better condition on the same exact page is selling for $178 and only sold about 8 on average per day...they both had about the same feedback in terms of percentage and number, and neither of them were promoted...I was wondering if you guys had any legitimate explanation for this?

They also both offered the same duration warranty and return policy.

Ah carumba....

Listing envy is dangerous.

Maybe the sellers rank higher.

Explanation is like how long is a piece of string.

What is it that you guys are looking at selling so many a day? Electronics? Most of my items I'm one of the only sellers to offer. No more than 5 or 6 total on most search result pages.

Stop bragging, nobody gives a **** about bragging.

Every seller has different items that they researched some found to make them a profit. Some enjoy high profits with some items and others enjoy small profits but with lots of items.

I think you misunderstand my curiosity.. I would love a bread and butter item like that.... Whenever I see '138 sold' etc on a sellers page I just find that completely insane..... the items I sell there are nowhere near 138 of to sell in a year, let alone for just one seller.

Listing rankings are complicated, some factors are mentioned in posts above.

I tend to establish myself in a niche nobody else has conquered. I also get suppliers I know nobody else will openly find. Then I begin the journey. Then as you gather hundreds of positive ratings etc. you become the predator in that niche, so much so you remain right at the top. When your right at the top of a best match, you get more exposure.

There's so much to it, but basically if you know exactly what it takes to stay at the top of the search results, your competitors will come in, try and fail and leave you alone. I have seen a bunch do just that.

Bottom line OP - the guy making more sales probably did what I did, got there first and 'established' himself.
