Moving house

I'm moving house at the end of the month, because I need a bigger place and she wants a little garden...ugh.

I hate moving anyway, but this time around I've got few technical aspects that I need to resolve first.

I run all my accounts from Virgin Hub and change IP with Netgear router. If I move houses, surely it'll take Virgin some time before my new place has internet? If so, how can I still access my eBay accounts and run the business without downtime?

Also, the only positive about moving houses is the fact that I can now have a stealth account with my new legit address and accept return, right? No other positives.

Re: Moving house

As soon as you find out, where your moving, phone up virgin and start a moving house project. As soon as you know a date for moving house tell them asap and you can have internet up and running on the day you move in.

If you have access to the house before you move in, then you have it set up just before you move in. They say you need to let them know 3 weeks before moving. Load a bull really, I've moved quite a lot in last 3 years, I just made sure I let them know to book an engineer a couple of weeks before I moved. Never really lost internet connection when moving. But don't leave it to late, cos if the house your moving to hasn't had a teletext or virgin connection before, it can be a huge wait, if you only let them know a few days before moving house.

Can also use cellphone as tether for your net access.

Had a buyer recently who I had to open an unpaid item case on before they paid for the item, just paid this morning in fact. I left feedback along the lines of, thanks for payment better late than never!, then I realised I had a message from the buyer apologising for the late payment but they had just moved house and had forgotten about this eBay auction bid. I decided that was not a good enough excuse and so have left my feedback as it is. Had a glance at their feedback and it was all glowing as well.

Yes, but play it safe by using stealth strategies. If your name is Haidukken Ken - Use an iteration of that name. Keep log of IPs etc.
