Default VERY IMPORTANT shipping question please help

Hi guys, I have a very important question about an item that needed to be shipped.

I sold an item on May 5th, and I ship first class which I believe is 2-4 days.
I checked this item and it states manifest, which means the item never actually got shipped.
If I edit the tracking number tomorrow and list as the tracking I will get from the post office for overnight shipping, will I be in the clear or will it still hit my shipping defect rate?

I entered the tracking number on the 5th, in my ebay seller account I listed that as a seller my handling time is 2 days. So technically it would not ship until the 8th, and if max amount of time for first class delivery is 4 days, then technically the latest for delivery confirmation would be the 12th right?
If this is the case I can just edit the tracking number tomorow which will show that the item will be delivered on the 12th.

Bunneh, I got this directly from the ebay website:

An acceptance scan is not required for on-time shipping. We look for positive proof that you shipped on time, which can be either an acceptance scan, delivery confirmation or positive response to the buyer question. If we have any one of these, you’re all set and you’ll be recognized for on-time shipping.


So if I do ship overnight tomorrow shouldn't I be good?
I uploaded tracking on 5/5/16, my handling time is 2 days, and I will be overnighting tomorrow and editing the tracking which will get me delivery confirmation on May 12.

In my experience, its going to be what the he** ever eBay decides. Just because that's written in the policy doesn't mean THEY will follow it, hence, multiple stealth accounts..

USPS First Class is advertised as 3-5 working days.

Often it runs as long as 7-10 days or more.

I can tell you from experience that even if your item is delivered on time, your shipping rate will still be hit. (I became less prompt once they screwed my account, but still ALWAYS shipped within my 1 day handling time, and the packages were all delivered within expected delivery time) . My shippnig rate went down from 98% to 90% in 30 days. I believe mine was due to weekends; they claim weekends don't count as a handling day, but I believe they do. Its the only explanation, as all other packages were legit shipped within 24 hours or less (usually same day). I more or less changed my process.... .to confirm to what they said was OK as far as the weekends go. I traveled on weekends only now to acquire inventory, to qualify for top rated plus with 1 day handling time weekends were my only time to travel. It turns out even that was not true... can't trust anything they say. worst company ever, but cant live without them now. This is another headache you will have to deal with daily once you upgrade to Top Rated Plus.

I have the opposite experience with first class.. it often times gets there in 2-3 days, same as Priority. That was even before my friend became manger of the plant and started putting it right on the conveyor belt for me.

The packages also seem to be handled a little better, as after they're sorted they only make contact with other featherweight items. Huge fan of First Class here.
