| | | Retailer77 | 05-13-2016 08:07 PM | Why is it that.... When I post an item as 2 or 3 days I get sales much faster....than if I list as "good til cancelled?"
Anyone know?
Kinda seems like a catch 22 because I want to list as "good til cancelled" since that way I build my sales history and get the red number sold next to the item, but at the same time it takes so much longer to get a sale. |

| astralman | 05-13-2016 09:21 PM | Re: Why is it that.... Good till cancelled auctions get put like way back while auction ending soon get put at the time. It's common logic. |
Re: Why is it that.... Something to think about, Retail Stores always do "3 day sale", "Weekend Only Sale", "Going out of Business, Buy sh*t now sale"! |
| yankee | 05-13-2016 09:24 PM | Re: Why is it that.... Most states have laws about how long you can be going out of business for this exact reason. Urgency!
Entire business model in itself is going out of business sales. |
| Retailer77 | 05-13-2016 09:26 PM | Re: Why is it that.... It kinda sucks tho..because I want to build my selling rate that is displayed to buyers and it seems I can only do this with "good til canceled" and never run out of stock |
| stressed08 | 05-13-2016 09:27 PM | Re: Why is it that.... Also it's obvioulsy 'newly listed' 10x as much as the seller who choses 30 day listings like me. Newly listed is one of the most frequently used search parameters. |
| Retailer77 | 05-13-2016 09:34 PM | Re: Why is it that.... Do you any of you guys know how sellers get that "sold" number in red next to their listing?
Such as 2,758 sold for example? |

But if you ever reset the listing you start from zero again |

You can have active good till cancelled listings with 0 items for sale it you set it up that way.
This is ebay basics. Just search the ebay site for exact details or look at the listings options when making it. |

I'm just trying to figure out how sellers seem to get that red "amount sold" nxt to their items..sometimes mine will appear and say "25 sold" for example..but then dissappear |
| yankee | 05-14-2016 09:02 AM | Re: Why is it that.... active sales. Just sell stuff. Stop worrying about these things and FOCUS on sales is my suggestion.
What is wrong with relisting 3 and 5 day listings if it makes you more money?
Good till cancelled listings have almost no value to me personally. I am all about transactions and not letting my competitors know how many items I have sold. I could not care less about being the biggest seller of an item. All I care about is money comes in and items go out.
Feedback, item counts and trending make very little difference to me. I focus on transactions almost exclusively and second by service of getting the items out the door. Everything else is not important if you take care of transactions and getting things shipped.
Wish you luck! |
