 UK Tax and china
Hi,
been selling on stealth for maybe 10 years.
all accounts and pps in diff names.
withdraw to my bank is the only link to me.
HMRC apparently coming down hard on ebay sellers
although i think its just scare mongering.
they spending so much on posters and **** saying'were coming for you'
so you go pay it yourself without them having to do the work
pretty sure they are cahoots with Some newspapers also, brown nosing the HMRC.
they say theres a 80m£ piece of software that'll take your savings and link it to your PAYE automatically.
anyway,
as my accounts are in diff names and my name is banned is there even any way to pay tax if i wanted to?
dont get me wrong i do NOT want to play to their tune, i just want some others views on taxes etc on stealth accounts.
as when you amass some profits through a stealth account it can be a small worry at the back of your mind.
like i say the only link i have to these accounts is when i withdraw.
i use my pp money to place new orders with my supplier,
but the mothball is now large and will need withdrawing soon.
oh ye and apparently the HMRC can download your sales history,
pp told them to swivel so they can't get in there atleast.
the banks are now letting HMRC lose on customers data.
like someone on a thread said this morning

Chinese sellers selling through ebay UK, with UK warehouses,
dont pay a penny and they are putting UK sellers out of business.
they are hurting my business at every turn now,
every time i find a unique prodict a week later they have it at a stupid price.
i get max 1 month out of a profitable line before it becomes devalued by the Chinese.
i literally can not research and place the order fast enough to keep up with them these days.
as they grow they will take on more staff and slowly spread to all categories.
2 years ago my category had hardly any china sellers in,
now there are 7 i know of all with 10,000+ listings.
one of them is just stomping on the UK sellers it hurts to see my friends and people who ive done business with disappear off ebay and i know exactly why it is.
ive even thought of trying to stop them by force.
i.e sending a fishing e-mail and linking their account with a blocked account.
my wife says this is foul play and its not nice.
i know that. but lets face it who wouldn't take out the competition if they could,
its no different to them undercutting the UK and putting my UK friends out of business, maybe we need to re-balance the scales.
business is business
