Return Requested.

Hello everyone.

I recently sold an item on eBay. I have a private stealth account. the item stated that no returns where accepted. The buyer received the item and left me positive feedback. now 1 month later the buyer has now requested a return. stating the item is not working correctly. (the item was in perfect condition before it was sent). I feel that the buyer has used the item and now does not need it anymore so trying to return it.
Paypal has frozen the money and ebay has asked me to resolve the issue.
I have the option of declining the return. What would this lead to? It states that this will automatically close the buyers request.
How ever i do not want to get into a dispute or risk my paypal account. i cannot afford to lose the item as its worth over £300 so a return to my real address may be difficult as it is a stealth account.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Decline the return. Thats the end in ebays eyes.

If the buyer wanted they could open a paypal case. But cross that bridge if it comes to it.

Re: Return Requested.

I think you can decline the request, and it will simply close the request. Since its beyond the returns period I doubt ebay would interfere.

Not all buyers go to paypal after begging for help, in this case, Paypal 'may' side with you in the sense that positive feedback was left, and a month had elapsed, implying the buyer had received the item and was satisfied with the purchase. Paypal protects the buyer if the item significantly not as described - but this doesn't necessarily extend to after the item has been used for some time.

Re: Return Requested.

Declining the return is fine - 1 month...annoying these kind of buyers. However, keep in mind, that if the buyer wants PP to intervene, they can ring up PP and a manual case could be opened...it has happened well past the return deadline
