Default Buyer "no longer registered user"

So this guy purchased something from me yesterday and now i see he's banned from ebay.

Should it ship the item or refund?
Will this get me in trouble also?

I would ship it because it will hurt your statistics if you don't.

The buyer may have created an account just to purchase your item, then closed the account. Or it could be a scammer trying to pull something. Sadly there's no way of knowing, but you're obligated to ship the order.

I used to see this all the time on orders from Half.,com. And if someone used the "guest" checkout feature on eBay I should think that could be another reason this may happen as well.

I would ship the item unless we are talking about a lot of money here.

I think that you should not post it, but cancel the order, as it seems very dodgy.

This happened to me one time when I forgot to process a case. After he got banned from ebay I won the case despite the return and I never refunded the buyer

He might have used stolen cards, account, whatever. Don't send.

Once I was selling 2 watches. I got 2 different buyers (one day after the other), same postal address. The name at the address included a number at the end, for example, smith2, the other ssmith3. Very strange. It was a Russian name. Plus the postal name and address were different to registered details. I cancelled that of course and reported it. I suspect the account was hacked.

Russia is known for sketch tactics...if the buyer is banned, consider if the risk of problems vs. benefit of profit is REALLY worth it?

I likely would not send out; just refund if any money received.

You have to determine if it's worth getting a defect in your seller dashboard, because that's what will happen if you cancel the order.

If it's an expensive item I would probably cancel, but I've never done that because I sell mostly cheaper things. I ship to Russia every week without any problems.

My buyer was a Russian in America. I checked out the NY address on google maps and it pulled up a shop address with Russian writing too. I'd be wary of Russians online, sorry to say, nothing against Russians!

I manage to cancel orders all the time and don't notice anything (defect) on my dashboard. Maybe because my account is old.

If you would deem this inexpensive, just post the item. Pro - you make profit. Con - chargeback and you lose the money and the item. But I have traded on ebay for under 10 years, and faced chargeback only about 3 times, and they were very high value items. I doubt the buyer would do it in this case. Just my two cents.

Not to mention the fact that Paypal rarely holds merchants liable for chargebacks..
