eBay and the Top Rated Seller Rosette
 

Hi guys.

Been awarded the Top Rated Seller status and I understand they give you a 10% discount which I believe is on each individual transaction.

One thing I have not been able to get up is the Top Rated Seller rosette alongside my eBay name.

Now I know that you have to offer an express 1 day delivery option on a listing with free postage.

My question is this:

If I have 50 listings which are collection only and 1 listing that has all the criteria for the Top Rated Seller rosette is this enough for it to show.

Too busy at the moment to have the added aggro of posting items. Aware I am only appealing to a certain catchment area.

Pick up works for me at the moment. Plus when buyers arrive I sell them a load more stuff they probably don't really want or need!

Do you display stuff to them or just pitch?

Do a mixture of stuff. Love thinking on my feet. Find out what they might need and direct them to various items I want to shift. Usually use phrases such as "just got these, they will be perfect for you"

So a mixture of display, pitch and a bag of "you need and want this thrown in"

I start high well prepared for the typical eBay user which means they are up for a haggle. I have a yard inventory of thousands of "defunct and dead but functional items" which I want to turn into cash flow.

Every one out of two buyers I sell something else to. Also seduce them a little bit by message before telling them what else is available - so hopefully they bring the cash with them!

Also have card facilities on site so that works as well.

Was going to get the Paypal card reader for the portable convenience.

Ok you have a big thread...

TRS 10% discount - will only apply to the ONE listing that qualifies. The FVF for the other 49 will not get he 10% discount.

TRS - You also have to offer 30 day returns, keep that in mind.

Paypal card reader - There are so many other card payment vendors, avoid Paypal. I think worldpay is an alternative. You should know how risky paypal can be in terms of shutting your business down.

I assumed that the 10% was on ALL listings on getting TRS, thanks for clarifying.

So collection items WILL NOT see the 10% discount? I guess there is nothing I can do about that.

Yes, the 30 days is a must now for good selling practice. Do that across the board. Want to maintain a good reputation.

Good tip on Paypal. I have forgotten what its like to be effectively "shut down" as not had it for a long while. The memories of faded on what a pain in the ass they can be.
