whats a good strategy once seller limits increase?

I was wondering could i get kicked off of ebay and is it bad if your seller limits increase to list a lot of items within 4 days of the increase and what should be the max in dollar amount you should list like should I stay away from $200-$300 items? One of my accounts got suspended for ever and I followed all the stealth rules and I can't see why at all. They just sent a email saying we reviewed your account and due to your selling activity, we are basically suspending you forever. I didn't get a 7 day suspension or any suspension at all just a straight your done forever...

the only thing i can think of is i listed to many items to fast and increased in dollar amount was a big jump for example i went from $20-$60 items and than sold something for $175 but my seller limits went from
$500 to $1,500
on May 5th and I sold the $175 item may 17th and prior to that sell I listed a few days earlier an item for $160

Is this bad or what do you guys think happen and got me kicked off for good???

You might want to move up sales slowly, going from $500 to $1,500 right away will make Ebay/PayPal nervous.....you have to slowly move into larger sales.

So is it best to just sell 1k or whatever you can depending on your selling limits right out of the gate?

Re: whats a good strategy once seller limits increase?

If you list $1K right out the gate your going to get limited. You gotta start out with low risk, low priced items.

thanks a lot brother so for example if i am selling items $40- $60,the next step should be like 80-120 and just go up gradually?

Do you think thats why I got instantly limited and banned from ebay for that account??

What about when buying a higher limit account? I need to list as much as I can asap... Already been out of business a month

Doesn't matter if you bought it or made it yourself, you gotta go slow...

Re: whats a good strategy once seller limits increase?

OP seems like it was relatively slow... you recommend even slower? This is going to be harder than I thought.

by the way I wasnt selling items from 500 to 1,500, i was saying that was my seller limits and before I was selling $40-60 and than made a sell of $175 and listed item that was $160. you think that caused few red flags?

The Problem is that a lot of times people want to just pick up where they left off...and that's not possible.

I'm done for then... that's rough. Now I see why sellers create 10 different accounts... they must list $400 on each or something. They don't create 10 accounts because it's cool.. they must create them out of necessity.

People create multiple accounts for several reasons:
1. Spread Sales
2. Spread Risk of limitations
3. The 200/$20K issue

Why is going slow such an issue? Letting the account just sit there isn't going to make it any better, nor is it going to "age". You can mope or you can start selling.

You create the 10 accounts, build them all up slowly, then you have tons of high limit and solid backups in case anything happens to 1-2 accounts.

It's my sole source of income, and I've already taken 30 days off to evaluate my situation. Of course, like most when they get screwed, I have thousands in inventory sitting here too I need to get rid of.

Very understandable situation but you can't rush headstrong into high sales right away - sadly.

Many of us were in the same place.

Although hard, it was you need to do to get back on top of ebay again.

I hear ya 100%, but you gotta trust us when we tell you to go slow.....eventually you can get to where you want to be but for now, it's gonna have to be slow. I would also recommend building up a few more accounts at the same time. We don't believe in the "all eggs in 1 basket", we like to spread our sales across multiple accounts. These days Ebay and PayPal get freaked out if someone just starts off selling huge amount of items and large amounts of $$$, last thing you need or want is your cash being held for 180 days.
