How does ebay and paypal link up?
 

Just wondering how they link accounts?I've been reading a few articles about companies selling their ebay accounts with other parts of their business to a new company,and wondered if the accounts history would affect it or would it be looked at as a new account with paypal?
EG:If someone(company) purchased another company and took on that companies ebay shop as part of the purchase(acceptable under ebays terms)would they need to take on the attached paypal or start a new one?

This is a gray area.

Very few US accounts get sold as businesses like they do in the UK.

The issue is getting a straightforward response from either ebay/paypal on such a business transfer.

We had a seller who paid out £10,000 for a business. Got a permanent limitation off paypal. The crux of paypal's decision was the old paypal had been limited permanently.

One thing, take nothing SAID by any staffer.
Only have anything in writing.
