Leave EU or remain
 

Hello all, I know it doesn't seem like a topic that fits the forum. But allow me to explain, as I believe it does.

So I was wondering if we were to leave the EU, would it affect the regulation when it comes to selling goods to EU countries.

Would Import tax occur for other EU members when they purchase from the UK?

Would it affect sales for UK ebay sellers in any way if we were to leave the EU?

I wondered this when it first came up, and tbh I really don't know much about it. It's a hard decision to make and I have no idea why they are leaving it to the public, I know myself that I have no idea, and will never have any idea, and no one I know will ever have any idea exactly just how much making a decision to leave or stay might affect us.

Anyways, I figure if we leave it won't affect my business too much. It will be just like when I send parcels outside the EU. Postage might increase (which customers pay so maybe I will see a slight drop in sales) and I'll have to fill out a CN22 form for every sale.

So more work, maybe less sales, but who knows, maybe some other area of my life will benefit to the point it will seem insignificant.

It may be hard to know.

Terms of trade etc would need to be worked out before any action took place.

Appreciate all the input and was actually what I had in mind too.

Just had another quick thought - For VAT registered sellers, it may be beneficial, as that means, sellers wont have to pay for any VAT for parcels going outside the UK, again subject to trade terms etc. But that would save me a lot of VAT costs!

Lets just wait and see :)

Never understood why you joined it. Does not sound British giving up that much sovereignty to mainland Europe. If you do leave safe bet Scotland ask for another independence vote and vote to leave which open alot of can worms for other places want form own countries in EU. At least you were smart enough keep your own currency & monetary policy bet Germans wish they did now.

:faint:We didn't we joined a trade agreement which somehow evolved into a load of unelected planks governing us lol.

And yeah hopefully Scotland leave, literally the whole of Scotland votes left wing so would mean a right wing party in England is pretty much a certainty for a long time.

Problem is 75%+ of UK politicians are pro EU so even if we vote out then I expect they'll end up sticking us in a trade agreement like Norway,Switzerland have and that means we'd have to allow free movement anyway which is the main reason a lot of people are voting out
