Ebay does not allow email exchange
 

Probably most of you would know this already, but ebay does not allow exchanging email contacts via ebay message.

However, I seem to have found a way to do so. By replying directly from the email you receive, instead of logging into ebay. You will bypass the system and you can then type your email address and send the message out successfully without the ebay warning message.

Just thought I'd share for those that do not know, as it makes it so much easier to deal with sales outside ebay (if need be).

I've always wondered how some buyers manage to get past the email filter.

I've never replied from my email. Instead I'll add my email or phone number as an image attachment within the ebay message.

Buyers can see your PP email when they buy something.

If I'm messaging a customer my phone number or email, it's usually a perspective wholesale buyer who hasn't bought anything yet. I would have no need to send someone my email who could just as easily check the transaction details.

Simple guys.. tell your customers to send their email without the "sign & ending" ex: johndoe45 gmail ... works every time !!!

Even adding that image attachment with e-mail or phone number....there are a few goody-twoshoe'r ebayers who might be tempted to report circumvention of the rules...

I'd like to complete the lovely triad here above by saying that words like gmail in the text could draw unnecessary attention from eBay BOTs to your account.

The method OP mentioned.. I have been using for as long as I can remember. Till today I have had no issues whatsoever.

However I avoid it at all costs, I like to keep all correspondence between me and the buyer ON eBay, considering how shady some can be!

I know. Hence why I dont recommend it. I only do it when all other options are exhausted.

In all honesty, I mainly do it due to convenience. There is only 1% of my customers wanting to obtain invoices and conduct sales outside ebay.
