Dhl/customs question
 

Hi guys have had 2 parcels in customs from saturday, just phone accessories, non branded items. According to dhl the whole shipment has been held by customs, had shipment on hold for a few days pending customs inspection...

Today i got the status "your shipment has been released from customs clearance processing" this was at 10.25am but there has been no status update from then...anyone any ideas whats yp?

Also has any1 noticed that there status is getting the package has been given a release by customs message unless there is an ad hoc exam etc literally 20 mins after its departed the transit facility in germany?

The packages most likely need to go through DHLs next shipment cycle and be on board that load.

Ive had this happen around 3 months ago.

Bit of a nightmare, i thought they moved once in the morning and then again in the evening, have you been finding your status updating just as its leaving germany

My DHL shipments move/leave facilities around 4am

shipments only move once a day.

I thought it was twice, thanks bunneh :) have you had any issues with the 2nd part ( statuses updating just as it leaves germany)

oh from Germany it will leave Germany from 9pm- 12am usually and then arrive in heathrow in the morning and depending where you are it should be at your depot around 7am and depart the depot 9am roughly.

Germany almost always check parcels.. so i wouldnt worry just yet.

Sorry i should of explained it better, the 2 parcels im talking about are with customs in east midlands.....thats the 1s that said had received clearance from customs..

Im finding now though that nearly all my parcels are receiving a status update just as they leave germany..

Will say package have been given a release by customs unless there is a stop...

And at times going atraight to a clearance event just as its leaving germany

Seems very strange....ive never had a parcel seized just find it strange how the status are working

Normally if your parcel arrives after the the time of pick up for the lorries, or if there is a delay (example : we recently had a bank holiday) it will say clearance event.
And will get released when the next pick up is available.

However it will also say clearance event if you currently owe them custom fee's for a previous parcel, and they get your current parcel/s put on hold until all previous fee's are paid.
Once then will they release them for delivery.

If your parcels say ' clearance processing complete' then customs have already passed your parcel into the UK.
