Confirming identity by phone?
 

Ok bit of a problem..

I am creating my first stealth eBay, I have just completed making the paypal and thats all good I've just entered all eBay details and everything seems to be ok there and I've just linked my new paypal to my stealth eBay.

eBay is now asking to call me to verify my number, for some reason I thought they verify it by sending you a text? The problem is the number I entered is the phone number I got with the SIM for my internet dongle. I can get texts through the dongle to my computer but I can't receive calls. What can I do?

You should be able to change the number to one that you can get phone calls on easily enough

My house phone number and mobile number is tied to my old account, and my family all use their phone numbers for their own accounts. I will have to get a cheap phone as my phone is locked to o2 so I can't put my three sim in it.

Phone verification should give you 2 buttons to press.

'Call me' or 'Text me'.....

As above. I've always had both options available - call or text.

Yeah I thought so too but I am looking at the screen now and I'm given 2 options:

Call me now
Call me in two minutes

I have just bought a cheap phone on eBay so hopefully when I get that I can put the sim in that and confirm the identity then.

Looks like you are signing up to a business eBay account if you can see those 2 options.

Sounds like you joined directly as a business to eBay in that case.

Also, signing up this way I have yet to ever get higher than 10/650

You can find a VOIP service and forward that number to that VOIP.

Ah yes thats what I was doing, so its better to just sign up one ebay as a regular selling account first?
