Safely switching user accounts for stealth

So I want to open a second stealth eBay account on the same computer...i have made a new user account for my second stealth... now when I go to switch user do I need to restart the computer or do I just switch users and I won't be linked? I'm using a T-Mobile zte mobile hotspot so I'm guessing I need to turn off/on every time I try to log on to a new eBay account to get a fresh ip...but what about the other details? Do I sign out of eBay/PayPal restart computer etc. or is just turning on/of hotspot ok?:help:

Logging out and then logging into the new user account is fine :)

And the mobile hotspot do I need to turn off and on again?

No need to restart computer.

Log off from the first user, turn off and on again your hotspot to get the new IP (check with IPBurger or similar to see if you actually have a new IP)

Log into the other user and get access to your 2nd stealth account,

Now lets say I'm distracted and I don't sign out of user or don't reset mobile hotspot... am I then linked and screwed just that fast?

Re: Safely switching user accounts for stealth

That would cause you to get linked yes

You have to be methodical about signing out and changing IP

Re: Safely switching user accounts for stealth

You only need to put your cell phone into airplane mode when changing stealth accounts to change the IP address. At least that's how my Metro PCS has worked for the last 4 years. Some here also recommend keeping an IP address log but honestly I never have nor have I ever been linked since joining the Aspkin forum.

If you want to log your IPs and you should. Lots of good phone apps. I use IPViewer.

Re: Safely switching user accounts for stealth

I would definitely keep track of IP's, i use both cell phone hot spot and a mifi, i have noticed that most of the time i am fine switching users and resetting the IP. But i have noticed that on occasion, and usually on the mifi that i can reset it after a couple of minutes and have the same IP reassigned. I have even gone as far as taking the battery out to cold boot and gotten the same IP. normally there is no problem with getting the same IP as a couple of days ago, but the problem is getting the same day!!! So i dont get complacent in thinking that i will not get the same IP, and its real easy and worth it to check IP's when switching between accounts. Its the cheapest insurance i have gotten in a long time:bird:

Once might not be a problem.

But make sure not to make a habit.

Psst... Stop being sexist. Not all posters are gentlemen.

1 time is unlikely to cause issue but don't make a habit of being distracted :) very easy to just reset and work on different acct

This might help you too.

Rather nifty file invented by our James'
You can log your IP.

Try to have a routine and NEVER do ebay stoned or drunk...

You do too much damage to computers, lappies or cell phones as you throw them against the wall!
