What postal mail do eBay / paypal send?
 

Can anyone give some idea of the physical mail (snail mail) that eBay and Pay pal are sending you?

I had provided a friend's address for both of these, but told the friend "you'll probably never get anything" believing that to be true.

I recalled having accounts with both of these years ago, and they never sent a single letter.

But I hear that these days they're sending letters ( at least a PowerSeller welcome letter....? if not more. )

Can we get a tally of all the mailpieces these guys are sending these days, to know what to expect?

What if you refuse the powerseller thing? do you still get a powerseller mailing from them?

I used to get fliers for eBay mini camps they'd hold across the country. Also they'd send out generic item fliers promoting iPods for example.

After a few months of that I found the setting that stops them from mailing anything. Now whenever I start a new account I check that setting right after the account is created.

Set you eBay account Preferences to NOT accept snail mail.

Don't expect to receive anything from eBay as they won't send you ANYTHING!

The only way that eBay will send you something is if you become a PowerSeller - They will send you a certificate and a little gift. However, if your nothing close to becoming a PowerSeller I wouldn't stress. You can even put your local McDonalds address on there and it will still be cool...

Be very careful about paypal. If there is a problem with a phone call for verification & they
advise that a letter will be sent out, then ensure that you have access to the postal address.

I have received snail mail from paypal and in the past received a certificate from Ebay not related to powerseller status.
