I put the wrong paypal email on listing

Any tips on what to do? ebay defaulted my email i put on the account as the paypal email and payment went to an email that doesn't have a paypal at all connected to it. Should I cancel the order and ask buyer to redo payment with my correct email inputted for paypal or will that raise a flag. Its the first item sold on this new stealth account. Rookie mistake

can't you just that email to your real paypal?

It happens. One thing to do is to let the buyer know - be honest and explain that there was an e-mail typo and payment went to wrong e-mail - ask him/her to cancel the payment and arrange for new invoice or payment request from your pp to buyer's pp. 1 time is unlikely to cause issue with your account.

@ghackett5, that would involve needing the OP to setup a paypal under THAT e-mail and payment should NOT be sent to the other paypal - 1) it can look odd to paypal 2) it could link them 3) paying more fees to paypal on payment transfers? Pfft h*ll no.

@OP, this eb is not the same e-mail as your paypal? Are you trying to add new paypal to an old ebay with a limited paypal....?

Good idea.

Just add the email address to the existing paypal and confirm the email address and collect funds.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I add email addresses all the time but not with a payment already received.

Keep it simple guys... all you need to do is blame paypal that the payment has not gone through cancel the order and then relist it on a buy it now same price ob changing your PP details and give the order number direct to the buyer to then buy.

I have added the initial email address to my Pp before to receive a payment that works fine as long as you can register "said" email address in your details with whoever the provider is

Not sure what your account status is... But if you're in the position to call them they will track down the payment, add the old email to your account, move/add the payment, and remove the email when finished. I did that on my real account for several payments once. When it happened again in the future, the rep didn't know that trick, but when I told her what was done in the past she said 'that's a good idea' and did it instantly for me, no problem.

In both of my cases, i didn't even notice, I sent the item, an as much as 30 days had passed and they were still able to help me.

I did it once, I just created an email with the wrong address, added it to my pp, went to 'claim it' just like the notice said, and it came right through.

if an item hasnt ended you can click revise item and put in correct email just below the pricing options. i have had it happen.

I have done what ghakett suggested and it worked for me. Many moons ago.
