Selling Technique on ebay

Hey guys I have a stealth account that is 2 months old and about to be 3 months old on the 17th. It has 5 positive feedback and no returns or negative feedback and ebay has been increasing my limits. I currently list 2-3 items at a time to stay under the radar. But I was wondering is it fishy to ebay that after each Item I sell I relist another item? Is it better to do quantities or just relist after each sell? My fear is ebay thinks I am selling to fast. So what are you guys thoughts about this?

Good question and a lot may depend on what you are selling - anything VERO related (and i dont mean phake) if you list quantities on a fairly new account would be more at risk to review..IMO... though this is more of someone from VERO looking at your listings.
What sort of items are you selling

I am selling mostly sports gear like headbands, few shirts, shoes puma and adidas, and jackets I got from Pac-Sun, ross, and burlington coat factory and from the thrift store some shirts and jackets are adidas

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

So would you say its safer to keep two items up at a time when one sells than relist or is it safer to make quantities ??

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

personally I would keep the two up at one time

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

and once one sales relist it asap or would you wait a day or two??

During the 1st 90 days after your 1st sale is considered a probationary period in eBay and PP's eyes.

And if you want to avoid a MC999 you would not want to list in quantity on a single listing or use stock images during this period.

Relisting is fine, but the key is to slowly increase your sales each month.

Agree with TGMT² - there is argument to say the probation period could even be 6 months!

What's a MC999?

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

So multiple quantities on new accounts and growing accounts are perfectly fine

@Yng, relisting for me has been fine - I often list the same item right away after it sells if I have 10 or so of the same item.

The only issue - not jinxing you but keep in mind - is that you are selling sports gear and it seems like you are selling BRANDED sports gear - listing adidas again and again could be suspicious since sports gear is kind-of a counterfeitable market, in my opinion. So keep in mind the items you are relisting.

Lots of strategies and techniques can be used but your name brand items are much riskier so following everyone's advice and keep on doing what has worked for you so far is a great safe approach.

I am guessing you are opening and running more accounts, right?

You can always experiment a bit on one account to see if more quantity or more listings works for you and your items. That is the only for sure way to know how much of your items you can sell successfully.

Personally I would not list such a popular brand on new accounts. Especially re-listing identical items. You are going from casual seller to business seller in a flash.

Most people don't have 10 items of the same thing on hand just to sell for fun or a little extra cash.

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

Better way to do is listing them gradually

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

What if they are pre-owned items like I have old nikes, vanz, and other brand items

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

Anytime you sell a name brand product you are subject to a VERO warning and then possible restrictions more severe as they increase until adios, bye, bye account. Best of luck!

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

I just listed something really risky on a 5/500 account and within an hour they suspended my account, so yes you need to start slow.

Re: Selling Technique on ebay

do single listing if you are just started out. I tried to do the multi listing once on a new account and they pulled my listings. So now I just list one at a time. As soon as the item sells I relist the next item.
