Ebay buyer account without paypal?

I'm new here, but I have done some searching on the forum and haven't found much regarding this question.

Is it possible now to set up a new ebay account just for buying without having to use or open a paypal account? It used to be that an email account from your ISP, or some kind of credit card verification was all that was required. I'm getting the impression that a paypal account is needed. BTW, IMHO paypal sux.

Thanks

alot of sellers do accept checks and money orders. so i suppose u could. i would just open a new bank account and use that debit card to open a new paypal. just change your addy a little. street instead of st. or add an apt # if there isnt one already. worked fine for me

nowadays you dont have to open a paypal to pay for items on ebay. It just asks you right on ebay for card information and pay from there

for yaw's idea, I do that but sometimes paypal forces you to make an account after a while. You can still close the account but sometimes it then won't let you use the same credit card anymore.
