Default Returns for clothing

I sell Authentic Designer jeans on Ebay and Levis jeans

Most sales go fine, my return rate is about 3% on average

The jeans I sell have to be measured because of shrinkage and sometimes stretching of the waist , I know how to measure the jeans

Of late iv had out of 60 sales of jeans 5 customers that said they dont fit.

Out of those 5, three admitted in ebay messages that they bought the wrong size. The other two im not sure. What is the best procedure for making sure that they are telling the truth or they just bought the wrong size jeans. Anyone here have any experience selling clothing on ebay?

Thanks

I don't think you can really do anything about it, people don't really know what their actual size is or they may lie to themselves about their size.

Yeah, just a fact of online selling I guess. Gets frustrating though, especially when you know your work is 100%

That is always going to be one of the downsides to trading clothing online. People will try it on to see if it fits, and return it if it doesn't. I used to sell shirts with sizes as simple as Small, Medium and Large - still got a few people saying it didn't fit.

Your selling Jeans, where variations are far greater with inside leg length and waist size, your bound to get customers ordering the wrong size.

If you sell clothes you will always have a higher percentage of returns than most categories. There's not alot.you can do other than accept the return. The buyer should pay if the only reason is they do not fit

Been thinking about taking a photo of the jeans with a clothes tape , of the inside leg size, and the waist size. But will really increase the workload per pair.

No point really. If they really want to return it they can just open a case and even make you pay to return them.

Its better to just accept returns are part of doing business, imo.

I they want to return it there isn't much that can be done about it I am afraid

Just have to bite the bullet

The issue with clothing is that the return rate is higher than other areas. Just have to fact that into your business plan

Selling clothing was what I used to sell on my first account (that got banned). With clothes it was hard, the process of picking items with no flaws, making sure they smelled decent and satisfied the buyer was a whole different story. I would have people say items didnt fit correctly and even one lady who I sold some uggs to which were her size but she wanted to return them because she didnt like they way they fit. Theres nothing much you can do about it but accept the return. Thats the clothing business on ebay. Its fickle! Theres proabably another reason why they want to return it but you'll ever know or be able to prove it.

Does eBay or Paypal get suspicious about returns due to sizing issues? Or they let that pass

just eat the cost. it is the price of doing business. Try to make buyer pay return shipping, but i don't fight them over it. Jeans sale very good for me.

Not everyone from Scotland is a pain in the arse.

Granted, most of us are, especially when our football fans have to stay at home to watch their English colleagues throwing plastic chairs and bottles at the French police.

When they miss out on all the fun, they must decide to take to ebay to piss off a few sellers instead.

You might wanted to do some research before selling clothes

The best kept secret in e-commerce is out. Here's Zalando's official return rate:

maybe you should start selling yoga pants
