Account disappeared
 

hi guys
My wife had her account since 2000. Throughout the years, she has accumulated quite a few feedbacks. Then she stopped selling from 2009. Recently she tried to log in and start to list some items, and found her count is gone.
We called and eBay has no clue. We had some old item number with her being the seller, and they don't have that listing record either.
Does this happen a lot?

Not usually, but you should have received an email before it happens. I happen to have an email from one of my accounts that they sent in 2013

If accounts are inactive, ebay closes them.

Have you any access to the email address of that ebay account?

Sorry to give you sad news. The account may now be gone.

if you know the email account it was linked to check back and try to find email from ebay relating to account inactivity as they do close them down after a number of years wit no usage

Welcome to the forums - other posters have made valid points. Moving forward, never let an account that WAS selling/WAS active ever go completely dormant for more than a few months...

Its a more recent thing that they started in the last couple of years or so if Im not mistaken. At least that's the first time I got these emails for some more aged accounts of my mine that I wasn't using.

But I assume those that are limited will remain forever limited. I can still see my very first user account on ebay, except it says no longer registered.
