Do you only get marked for late shipment if an "item not received case is opened"
 

I shipped a high value item 6 days ago and not a single is showing up in tracking. I told the buyer give it until Monday if they still don't have the item I will refund $.
So by Monday if they don't have it I'll refund them, but just wanted to know if this would count as late shipment from eBay?
Or does it only strike you with late shipment if the buyer opens a ln item not received case.

late shipment is all about the scanning in packages and delivery dates from tracking. The only metrics that count right now are cases unresolved.

You have solutions to your tracking problems now. So just focus on improving and learning to do better sounds like the correct subscription at the moment :peace:

You get a "late shipment" defect any time the package is delivered after the date Ebay estimated for the buyer when they originally purchased. It's a really hard metric to deal with sometimes since we have no control over how USPS (or whatever courier) handles their mail. I had to change the shipping method in February on a few of my good listings to something slower just to maintain Top Rated status.

One if my items I shipped about a week ago has not yet beer delivered or even showing in transit..so i am going to be refunding the buyer tomorrow.
Will this get marked as late shipment though?
Basically it was lost or stolen (likely stolen) in transit.

What mail service did you choose to ensure max shipping time safety net?

Don't quote me here because I'm not an Ebay employee. But I would say that most definitely counts as a late shipment. Even if it was never scanned, it was marked as shipped and wasn't delivered on time. I think you'll actually get two defects for this. One for "tracking uploaded on time and validated" and one for "late shipment."

I changed some of my more active listings to "USPS Retail Ground", which has like a 9 day delivery time. But I still ship everything First Class or Priority.
