UK ebay - no sale today

Hello all

Is it just me or are everyone not getting any sale today (UK ebayers)? Due to the eu referendum poll perhaps?

I would imagine it has a lot to do with it... All eyes are on this...

I've been getting sales trickling in, but I don't think I would hit my daily target at this rate.

Yes seems to have an effect on most of my sales also.

I have a thread going elsewhere about my one and only sale for today today, from Italy, and it is having to get cancelled due to the ridiculous cost of shipping the bloomin' item over there.

I would not get too worked up just yet. It may be a couple weeks before things boil down and people get on with purchasing as normal but without any doubt, people will need and want things and buy soon no matter what the markets/exchange/shipping will be. Let's just hope it is sooner than later.

I think people are confused. Nothing has actually happened. We are still within the EU. Nothing is likely to happen until we get a new prime minister in 3 months.

I just think the last thing on people's minds right now is spending money with scaremongering financial articles all over the place.

Best thing the UK ever did. No more support for non productive countries like Greece etc...Some day they will all give in to the US dollar and give up on the (German) Eurodollar Ha!!!
USA means Superpower, live it...love it!

With all due respect, you are in $19.3 trillion debt. When you've paid it, then refer to yourself as a superpower.

But USA wanted the UK to stay in the Euro no? Which means the UK just went up against a superpower.

UK is about 1.5 trillion USD in debt? but is less than 1/40th the size of the USA. UK debt per capita seems to be twice the USA.

Just to keep things in perspective....

Re: UK ebay - no sale today

Whichever party gets in over here they just borrow more and spend more, hence the size of that UK debt.

Super political but if you mean the USA, you are referring to Barack Obama, yes. He threatened to place the UK on the back burner of all European Trade with the USA. But he does not represent the USA as a whole and arguably he is irrelevant to anything at all and certainly does not represent the majority of the USA in these statements.

Numbers are quite a bit off there

GDP
$17,947,000 - USA
$2,849,345 - UK

Government debt per capita
$55,630 - USA
$32,553 - UK

Let's not turn this thread in to a pissing contest between the UK and USA.

My figures are from 2015 tax year

The numbers are pretty similar to the numbers shown in your links though

Not really sure what your asking?

The number that was off was thinking that the UK was 1/40 the size of the US. The UK GDP is 1/7 of the USA

I was referring to land Mass for size. Sorry for lacking clarification.

Also, the two debt numbers I was looking at were not comparable. The UK total debt per capita included all government debt and the USA one I supplied did not include state and local government. Not remotely comparable.

My bad :peace:

I have found others and to sum it up, but who cares. My point was both countries along with most other governments as a whole have massive debt and I did a terrible job expressing that. :)

There was a study one time that found that UK woman washed there hands the least of all people on the planet after a trip to the bathroom!

We still share a bath once a week in our house.

Man first, woman second, children last.

Re: UK ebay - no sale today

To make it a little clearer...after WWII the US dollar became the world's most trusted currency. But over the years the US treasury would either print more money or raise interest rates for the World to pay in many ways.

They came up with the Euro to combat this money blackmail. but still over the years that turned out to be a problem with weak unproductive countries like Greece. All the members of the EU union would have to cover for these weak countries debt.

The Uk is now the first one to say 'screw this'! Other countries will follow weakening the Eurodollar and the alliance. Plus they get to take out cheap loans from the big China Banks!

That got the right to being spoken of on the forum when politics showed its ugly head.

Was a time when there was no need to be the same as every other forum "doing politics".

Imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery.

But we had to join 'em.
