Ebay account limited - what to do?
 

Hi everyone. Im new here and also i was a complete newbie when started my ebay account and started selling.

So i did not know that cancelling an order for out of stock reason, is going to put my account standing to "below standard" status. I cancelled about 7 orders. Obviously my "Transaction defect rate" is below standard now. So yea this happened to me 3-4 months ago. And since then my account is below standard and ebay keeps sending me a message each month, telling me to improve.

How i am supposed to improve, when i am limited to 10 items/month and $400? Ever since i've been limited, i constantly successfully sold 10 items/month. I slowly decreased the percentage of "Transaction defect rate". (Now is at 10%).

So i did a calculation and with this terrible limitation imposed, i will have to successfully sell 10 items/month for another 3 years. That is just awful. And i definately have alot more to sell (im selling cdkeys).

What do you suggest i should do? how can i raise my selling limits?

They will drop off in a year and the dsr will be back to above average soon. you could also try and bs ebay stating buyer contacted you to cancel order.

I had a run in with below-standard rating a while ago and from my research, if they're going to close your account over it, it will be done before the next evaluation.

I'm not saying your account is 'safe' from closure due to selling standards, but the fact you've been allowed to continue selling for over 3 months since being below is a pretty good sign they're not going to unless another problem pops up.

There's nothing you can do about limits, like jeanbean said you'll just have to wait a year until they drop off... keep doing good business. They will not increase limits on a below-standard account, regardless of the case you make, not a human at least.

Don't get attached to that account, but keep selling to the limit & do good business, in 8 months it will be in good standing again.

If the limits are not being increased naturally your only other option is to call in - which is a risky thing to do wince it brings the account under scrutiny.
That's the whole point of stealth though. One account goes bad bring in another to take its place.

i advise you to buy the stealth guide and just buy an account ready made from one of the sellers on the forum,that will save you a lot of stress .
buy an account with 100 limit or 500 limit or even 1000 items a month limit .
read the stealth guide and if your a carefull seller the account will last you years.
on your account the limits could remain 10 items a month for the next 20 years as ebay have restricted your selling activity your at their mercy with that account.

I would suggest to make a new account or buy one. Don't take chances without a backup plan.

Thanks everyone for your kind answers. I guess i will wait a bit more then. If not, then stealth is the last resort.

I was selling limited amount of keys and at the same time i was also selling on reddit. Many times someone on reddit bought the game key, then when i checked my ebay, someone there too bought the same key. So i had to cancel the order since i did not had more than 1key/game. But lesson learned now. The hard way.
