how bad is the economy hurting your business.

WOW My sales keep going down and down. I am doing well on my one year account and my six months but with newer accounts this new "best match search" is killing me. I use to make a killing in Antiques but it seems people don't have the money to spend on that kinda stuff anymore.

I have to find something to sell that people need rather then want in these bad times.

My sales are down, stuff that used to sell in 1 day is now taking 4-5 days to sell. After 3rd day, i usually revise the item and lower the price.

Same here down about 25-30%

spidey773 03-03-2009 09:38 AM

my sales are about 1/3rd of what they use to be... back in 2007 my sales were about 6-8,000 a month... now I am dealing with 2500 a month, and ebay fees are crazy. there are alot of complaints I have about ebay

SevnSins 03-03-2009 09:53 AM

I thought it was just a fluke, but I've seen some serious changes in sales too. My older account hasn't had such a big drop, but new accounts are getting harder to establish without low balling my prices... which could get me in trouble as well.

Mine are petty much the same, but then again I dont sell in the thousands range yet lol

NotGoodEnuff 03-03-2009 11:10 AM

Yep! Sales are slow and it sucks! I am seriously thinking about changing around my prices and do what my competitors are doing. But, their sales are taking a hit too.

wow - i was thinking the economy is not affecting our sales on ebay but it seems like some people have problems - i am selling items that are very sought after and i dont have problems yet.

siashay 03-03-2009 11:28 AM

They way I figure it, so many people are losing their jobs. a lot of people are turning to ebay to supplement their income. There has got to be many newbies on ebay right now trying to bring in extra money. I am starting to get very worried. It is getting worse and worse.

My sales are even or slightly up. It changes from week to week, but the worst week has never been worse than average.

These are collectibles and I have a small, but hardcore following.

Yeah, I've been hit by the economy too.....I wasn't selling too bad in February but now it's taking me days for my inventory to sell.....

But just like others have been saying....It depends on what your selling...

I sell a variety of items and some items sell better than others, especially if you don't have much competition...

cath 03-07-2009 07:58 PM

I know my sales have suffered as well Items used to sell at buy now in less then a day. I now notice not many people are buying with buy now.. I have changed my inventory a little to carry what people need. I think people still want to buy certain items but are checking prices very carefully. profit margins are down, need to sell more quantity to keep up.
