ip addresses hotspot refreshing
 

does anybody have any idea how long ebay holds onto ip addresses? i have some accounts that were well banned along time ago about 6 months ago and i have all of the ip address logs for that account..

my question is can those ip addresses be used again and logged for another account? or do you just abandon those ip addresses altogether?

does ebay hold onto the ip addresses forever? or is their a certain period of time that you can start using them for other accounts?

6 months? Heh, pretty sure eBay will get you for that.

Once you have used an IP and its linked to a certain account, just use it with that account. If the account gets suspended, just leave the IP and take a new one.

There are endless number of IPs out there, no need to re-use something that is linked to a suspended account.
If you have an option to avoid linking accounts, then surely you need to do it.

I would assume they hold on to IP forever, as it doesn't cost them much in terms of storage etc., I mean it would cost them more to hold your listings and their respective pictures for that long, but IP is just a few digits of text. Especially when their using it to combat fraud, their not going to let go of such data.

i used a cellphone provider with a hotspot feature and when i renew my phone plan i still get the same ips begs me to question at the same time how many other people in my area are using these ips for ebay because its clearly being recycled.

To me, IP is likely only a HUGE issue for eb if they see a lot of fraud coming from 1 particular IP or set of IP...it isn't the ONLY factor in determining acct. suspension I would think or account linking
