| | | stressed08 | 07-25-2016 08:45 PM | Has anyone actually saved an account buying dollar items? My account was at 1.02% closed without resolution due to ebay glitches, items not received back, etc. happened a month I was moving, and went from top rated to below standard overnight.
Given old items are falling off, id have to sell 175+ items to save that account. I found an item I could buy for $1 and sell for $5 shipped.. And possibly sell 175. But they reduced to 50 items a month and I don't know if it's even worth it. I'm 3 months into a 12 month sentence, and best case in 4 months I'll be free again after 7 months of inconvenience. Id only be saving 5 months, this account will be fine again next year anyway. I have another account I'm selling well on again, but I want to be out of the shaddows and have two legit accounts again. |

People talk as if they do it all the time, and some might be successful, but I've never been able to do it for just the reason you noted, that EB lowers your selling limit and you can't make the number you need to redeem the account. |

I have 3 below dsr old standard and they been open 6 months still selling. Eventually the cases and other dsrs ill drop off restoring limit and account. Only if it gets worse will they close it. |

| chicagoIL | 07-26-2016 12:24 PM | Re: Has anyone actually saved an account buying dollar items? I did it. I went to goodwill, and bought a bunch of vhs tapes and dvds, books, you name it. I sold them for $1.99 - $3.99 a piece and free shipping, just to get my sales up. It cost me about $50 in shipping fees but I got my count back up and my seller standards changed. It took me 3 months to do it because I was dropped to 50/$3000 seller limits. Once my account was out of below standards, the sales started coming back in. It was worth the effort and the money. When my account went below standard, I sold barely nothing. If you have any intention of using eb again, I would try to fix it. By the time you pay for the stealth stuff, you could have covered the small loss to get the sales now. You have to decide what's more valuable. I chose to keep my account but you might not want to do that. I don't want to use stealth if I don't have to because you have to worry about being found out. I would rather use my real info if I can on eb. Stealth is great if your account is already closed but if not, I would try and fix it. |

Very true, and just about all the forum visitors here are using stealth accounts. Does depend as well of course on individuals availability of bank accounts here in UK, given that we don't want to be rushing into opening to many of them in relatively short periods of time. |
| stressed08 | 07-27-2016 11:44 AM | Re: Has anyone actually saved an account buying dollar items? No it's actual info account... For those who have done it, what was your rating? 1.02 seems impossible given the numbers.... But .35 would be an entirely different story. I'm on my 3rd billing cycle since, I don't think they plan to close the account. I really need to run the exact numbers, but after 3 months of no sales, and old sales falling off, i may need to sell over 200 items in 4 months now
I have a second aged account with actual info, different address, and unique unlinked paypal up and running ... Might just stick with this one and wait out my 1 year probation period on the other. I'm also worried about mixing up the logins, ips, etc using two accounts so I need to decide "if the juice is worth the squeeze" lol |
| dallis | 07-28-2016 08:07 AM | Re: Has anyone actually saved an account buying dollar items? They won't 'close' the account, but they probably will reduce your limit again to next to nothing.
They'll still let you buy, of course. |
| stressed08 | 07-28-2016 03:06 PM | Re: Has anyone actually saved an account buying dollar items? My new account is on fire, everything I list sells the first day. Decided to say screw the dollar items, but have a good one if anyone else needs it and has a dollar tree local. Going to focus on my new account and making money again for the first time in months. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:31 PM. | |
