You can also check your photo metadata details online in here: online metadata and exif viewer
Be sure to remove all those informations before posting any picture on eBay. |

stressed08 | 07-29-2016 12:56 PM | Re: Hiden info on your pictures Is eBay really using the special program to determine gps location?? If they are, I'm sure it's just for accounts already under review by a special department, I don't see them scanning all pics for gps... |
Retailer77 | 07-30-2016 08:35 AM | Re: Hiden info on your pictures This is paranoia to 10000000x degree...eBay is not going to track an image that you open up in your stealth email, and then download onto your desktop, which was originally sent through your smartphone.
Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
It's ebay..not the fbi |

It's ebay..not the fbi | First, your wrong.....images in emails from ebay contain "beacons", go look it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_beacon
Second, what the OP is talking about is the images used for their listing, Images from smartphones contain geotags which can be used to pinpoint your exact location with special software. |

Re: Hiden info on your pictures Don't worry about it then, clearly you have a better grasp on the way ebay/PP works. Don't listen to us crazy folk, we be crazy.... |

It's ebay..not the fbi | Gotta agree with this guy. I've been doing this for years with all of my accounts and not once have I been linked or limited as a result of it. You guys are really paranoid imo.
Plus what about when you randomly download images from the web, like I do for many of my listings, do they link ALL of those people with the exact same images? Ofcourse not folks. |

notepad.net (the program) it will overwrite the details. Have been doing it for over 7 years with dozens of accounts... No issues ever...
You can try it, the original information will not be there. Have checked it many times. and its 100% free and only takes seconds... | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:17 AM. | |
