Buyer had wrong address in eBay's system
 
Hi Ya'll, one of my buyer claimed he didn't receive the item I sold. Tracking number shows UNDELIVERABLE AS ADDRESSED. I asked for the correct address from buyer and it turns out that he/she left FLOOR 3 off the address and USPS could not identify addressee. Does buyer have any rights to claim a refund? I printed the label from eBay with the buyer's registered address...

You should be ok, not your fault . I would message buyer that soon as it gets sent back you will forward it to them.Did you have your real return address on it ?

If buyer opens a case just upload the tracking to case DONT escalate it yourself that can cause you to lose case .

It's a stealth address so I will never get it back. However, USPS tracking does not show that it's being returned.

You can call the post office where it was going to be delivered and ask for the carrier for the buyer's address. They will correct it and get it to the buyer if it's still in their post office.

If tracking shows Undeliverable as Addressed, USPS will try to bring it back to the address it was shipped from (the return address on the label).

If that doesn't succeed, it will go to the USPS Mail Recovery Center in Atlanta.

Your best bet is to call USPS and see if they can correct the buyer's address and try delivery again.

definately amend address with carrier, I do not see any problem with redelivery, they try twice anyway, as long as they can actually access the address. Even a receiver can amend it over the phone, but it is better if you do it yourself....

I often have the buyer contact Post office directly. I provide phone number and all... They know they goofed up, so they are more apt to do it...
