wheres my limit?

so I opened up a new ebay and paypal after being destroyed by them last month. everything on paypal is good to go I just got done verifying my bank and I go to ebay and I don't see any selling limits, doesn't say 0 but it is blank. does it not show a limit until you post something for sale? also I was curious about posting stuff because I have been told by veteran sellers on here that my normal business items are too expensive to start with a new account, so I was thinking about listing some dvds and blu rays that I still have new in packaging. just to get some sales going and age the account, I really need to get back to selling my usual stuff but for now my buddy is selling it on his account for me so I can pay bills. any help is appreciated.

Re: wheres my limit?

Limits appear when you either turn the account into a seller account or list something and go through the procedure to set up a seller account.

You need to

1) Confirm a phone number

and

2) Set up a payment method to pay your fees - Paypal or credit / debit card are the usual ways.

Re: wheres my limit?

I already linked it with paypal. so I should try to post an item for sale and then it will pop up?

Re: wheres my limit?

Linking a Paypal account is not the same thing.

When you are ready, post an item for sale. Once you do this, the selling limits will show.

Don't be listing anything high risk especially if the account has just been created.

would a new in package dvd be ok? definitely not Disney stuff lol.

Re: wheres my limit?

A brand new DVD is not what I would class as a low risk item.

Start off with some second hand household items or dollar-store items.

I don't really have stuff like that to sell lol. I have a few seasons of shows on dvd that I have duplicates I could sell but other than that I have a lot of ps4 games and blu rays. was thinking the dvds would be low risk but not sure.

Do not sell DVDs right off the start "period" They are high risk...

Trust when members say dont sell high risk... Ive had my frame bended from new dvd's off the start... I was to hard headed to listen...

DVDs and games are not the best way to start. Sell low end items...household items...sports cards...dollar shop goods

You may not be aware, but DVDs/Games/any other type of media is very commonly counterfeited. I agree with everyone else in recommending you definitely do not start out like that.

Get creative. Anything will sell on Ebay if you list it properly. I used to start accounts by selling zip ties which I got from an old job.

Re: wheres my limit?

DVDs and Video Games, new or used will most likely pull a 0-0 limit and your will have to call in and pass data base questions and almost guaranteed if the account is less than 30 days old.
Some sellers list DVDs for this very reason.

I was just in a hurry to try and see my limit, I got a 5/500.

Re: wheres my limit?

although my account limits are small, after losing my account that made me a steady 6k a month last month I am just glad to get an account started again and start to rebuild my online business.

Re: wheres my limit?

Don't worry about the 5/$500, those accounts usually get their selling limits raised rather quickly. I have around 5 that all started at 5/$500 and now their around 900/$25,000/month.

Anything counterfeited I would qualify as high risk....

List some dollar store items, garden items or office supplies.... Its ok to take a small loss to make money in big picture of it all....

Re: wheres my limit?

ill post some odds and ends and see if I can get some small sales going. I might even list a few of my normal things buy list them as an auction and hope they don't go cheap, did that with my last account and seemed to work ok. I buy a lot of blu rays on ebay cause I'm into hard to find stuff. ill definitely make some purchases this week.

Just wanted to share with you an info regarding eBay selling limit, I've notice that on ebay.fr You never get to see your selling limit (have more than 4 accounts some are more than 4 months old) but I never get to see the limit.

In case any one would be interested in the French market ;)

Wish you all the best of luck!
