Low Risk/High Risk/VERO Question

Hey all,

Got my stealth all set up now, working on more.

My business centers around mostly selling 2nd hand clothes I personally find, and I also sell for many vintage shops in the area.

Is 2nd hand clothing "high risk?" Including brands like north face, nike, etc? These are all authentic and NOT BRAND NEW. I assume brand new items are "high risk" because theyd want to see receipts etc.

Any input?

The bigger the Brand, the bigger the risk. Even used can be considered high risk. That being said, it's not 100% guarantee that your items will be taken down, you will need to test the waters and see what works and what doesn't.

I operated for years on my original ebay selling used items and none ever got taken down or infringement notices, I was just curious if new accounts were under heavier watch for items like this.

Thanks for your response!

Sounds like you have a wealth of experience to draw from, so you should be successful. Just try to avoid what you did last time to get your OG account limited and you should be good to go this time around.

Awesome. Appreciate your response buddy - probably just operating with a little more of a paranoid sense right now because I don't wanna get chopped again haha.

To answer your question from above - yes, newer accounts are under closer scrutiny. Perhaps start with lower risk items and establish yourself as a seller before introducing anything with a brand name to the mix.

Re: Low Risk/High Risk/VERO Question

On a account I made 4 months ago my first item listed was high risk wallet that sells for $500, I sold it for $65. After that I sold high risk $225 athletic shoes auction style for a month. I still have that account selling nothing but shoes, buy it now and have a 500/25,000 limit. Have no neg feedback, but have had quite a few returns for authenticity. On top of that I worked on the account with the same PC user account I worked on a account that got suspended. I know its only a matter of time before it get suspended but my point is there is no clear answer. If someone reports you you'll have problems, that's what got my last account reviewed and suspended (for no invoices and a primary address 100 miles from where my shipping and receiving address is). I guess you have to watch what you say to not piss off people returning your items and leaving neg feedback no matter how stupid they are, there is no getting around it. But I wouldn't worry so much about listing one or two big brand items here and there in the beginning if your going to list them later on anyway. You should have the tools now to make multiple replacement accounts if it does go down.

But keep in mind I'm fairly new to this and my not know what the hell I'm talking about. Just adding my experiences to give a bigger picture so you can learn from my mistakes since that's what this forum is all about.

It sounds like ebay knows this is you and giving you a second chance. Use is wisely. Account could last a decade.

Good input. From being burned many times over and dealing with thousands of customers through the years, I learned it's better to just take the L and refund them/give them whatever they want because eBay will force you too anyway. Even if they are lying or saying ridiculous things, I'll just agree to get them out of my hair unless it is something I know I can beat without much hassle. Just isn't worth the time.

I wouldn't list NIKE from the get go, used or not...

The thing that makes me think its a bit safer is because it's true vintage items. I could see it being trouble if it was new dri-fit t shirts or athletic shoes, but these are 80s 90s pieces not being reproduced. I appreciate your input though, will think about it some more.

My OG account was never in trouble for counterfeit products or being a hassle to customers. I got suspended for too many cancellations and late shipments, partially my fault along with eBays... but I know what needs to change. I am lagging behind in work though and would like to list as much as possible on eBay, even just 25-50 listings, but not trying to lose an amazing stealth I have.
